I took the family for Sunday lunch, the food was exceptional. We sat in the beer garden before we dined and the grandchildren loved the Mad Hatters Tea Party Theme, ( plus Sausage the stray cat who apparently they have adopted). The food was plentiful, all home cooked, just like mum used to make. The service was first class we waited around fifteen minutes for Ian to serve our party of nine. We have been to The Old Roebuck before, but only for a drink. The pub was nice and clean and the bar staff very pleasant, I even gave them a tip which means a lot coming from me?. My Family really enjoyed the experience and said they would definitely come back again. if there is one pub in Altrincham that makes you feel more than welcome, it has to be The Old Roebuck. Thank you...
Read moreBooked for Christmas lunch; a group of fifteen. Good communication from the staff, especially as we had a few orders to change last minute.
Fitted us all into one room no problem, crackers, party hats, whole nine yards.
The food was ‘proper’ Christmas grub, like you’d get at home. Everything you would conceivably have on a Christmas dinner was on there, even a bit of roasted sweet potato, which was a nice extra. All cooked well and all received well by everyone in the party, it was delicious.
Also found out on finishing up that the chef had had his knee replaced a week before, so can’t have been easy to do all that and do it so well.
Would definitely recommend for some good honest home cooked food, likely to book again...

It's good for discovering something you may have never tried before, just ask! . The food is good too. The menu has a tasty homemade feel to it, typical pub grub with a decent range of dishes. You can't go wrong with the Cumberland Sausage, mash gravy and veg!😋 The Roebuck is one of our favourite lunchtime haunts in Altrincham, 😊...
