Came here for a quick meal after seeing the great reviews but whilst the food was great, the service is what let it down.
We found the service to be discriminatory and for that reason we wouldn’t go back despite enjoying our meal. When we arrived the restaurant was a few tables full with one waiter who sat us down quite quickly but the table had a slight stickiness to it. We then waited almost 20 minutes just to order despite trying to get the waiters attention. When he arrived to take our order he did not seem very bothered. Food arrived within reasonable time, but after our meal, we again waited around 10/15 minutes before I decided to go up to the bar to pay and leave. Whilst we were there, we saw the waiter spend lot more time with other tables, asking them if everything was okay during their meal and provided things like olives whilst they wait etc but it seemed we received second class treatment.
On to the food, we ordered the half chicken which comes boneless and was soft was with a nice seasoning, the Aleppo kebab was also very nice but didn’t expect it to have the thick tomato sauce on top. Can tell the food is made very fresh and with quality ingredients. The prices were reasonable although some mains arrive with sides and some don’t which I find little...
Read moreI recently popped into this Syrian restaurant on Crofts Bank Rd, Urmston, Manchester M41 0TX, hoping to dive into something properly traditional and full of authentic flair. We ordered the mixed grill, which came with bread a bit like naan or tortilla, and some chicken wings just to give it a whirl. The food was alright. Perfectly edible. But honestly, I reckon I might need to get accustomed to Syrian flavours, or maybe it could’ve been a tad more exciting and punchy to really stand out.
That said, the service was absolutely brilliant. Proper top-notch stuff. The staff were very much friendly, always on the ball, and made the whole visit a real treat. They were smashing with the kids too, handing out lollies and chocolates left, right, and centre, which made it a brilliantly family-friendly spot. The atmosphere was proper nice as well cosy, inviting, and just the right kind of warm vibe to relax into.
The cracking service and lovely setting mean I’ll definitely be back. Next time, I’ll have a proper butcher’s at the menu to hunt down a hidden gem. For now, it’s worth a punt for the stellar service alone. Perfect for families or anyone after a warm welcome.

Read moreGreat service but sadly the food really let's the place down.
Starters were very much over fried brown party food type. It reminded me of the food you'd buy at Iceland for a Christmas buffet.. cheap tasteless and poorly cooked.. King prawns in batter with no flavour, virtually no prawn and served dry with no dip? Who does that?
Half a chicken is a joke more like 1/4 chicken. Sadly it was bland and very uninspiring to the point I didn't want to finish it. The whole dish was lacking in flavor. Looked like road kill and was very much delivered on a price.
The lamb was equally grizzly and dry. And just getting through it was very unpleasant.
Oh the plus side the Greek salad was nice but sadly it can't make up for a very lackluster assault on the senses. There's much better more authentic experiences that should draw your attention and money long before this restaurant.
We won't...
