Thought we would try out this new restaurant in Urmston based on the recent reviews but sadly it did not live up to our expectations. We had booked for 8pm however no acknowledgement upon our arrival and table wasn’t ready for a good 15 minutes so had to stand at the entrance whilst a queue gathered behind us, giving the impression that they were unable to turn the tables around quickly enough to accommodate all bookings. The food in my opinion was rather pricey for the small portions and arrived suspiciously quickly for such a busy restaurant in under 5 minutes and was luke warm, microwaved ? The bread basket arrived with 4 small pieces for £4.50 ! One of the dishes we ordered was chicken which was 4 small pieces and looked like something which had been bought from Iceland and mostly all lettuce. On a positive note the food on the whole was tasty and the restaurant has a nice ambience albeit feeling overcrowded, quiet a challenge getting to the toilets ! I am sorry to say that based upon the reviews on here either we went on a bad night being a Saturday and too busy for them to cope or the people of Urmston are easily pleased. Either way time will tell and unless they up their game this will be yet another short lived venture in Urmston and we will not...
Read moreI visited Los Vinos recently, hoping to enjoy some quality Spanish food, especially considering the high prices. Unfortunately, it was a major letdown.
Firstly, they charged extra for alioli on my patatas bravas, which was quite frustrating. The meatballs were truly tasteless – no flavor whatsoever. The paella was another disappointment; it was extremely dry and seemed like it had been sitting there for hours.
There were a couple of good moments, though. The pork belly was delicious, and the prawns were cooked just right. However, the food arrived too quickly – all at once, which isn't ideal for tapas, where you're supposed to enjoy a couple of dishes at a time. I thought the paella would come later? We were in and out in less than an hour.
The servers were pleasant and friendly, which was a plus. But the coffee was quite weak, adding to the overall disappointment. After paying nearly £80, I left feeling quite dissatisfied.
In summary, Los Vinos was a disappointing experience. A few good dishes and friendly service couldn't make up for the extra charges, bland food, and rushed service. I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for an authentic...
Read moreWe'd wanted to eat here since the place opened, and we booked in advance because we knew it was popular.
The staff were all very efficient and took our orders quickly, and the food was delivered in an equally speedy fashion, which gave the impression that much was pre-prepared, warmed up, and sent on its way, and gave a rushed feel to the whole meal. Empty dishes were quickly cleared away, giving us more room. The restaurant itself was nicely furnished, although tables are very close together, giving something of a canteen feeling.
The food was enjoyable if unremarkable. Nothing really stood out, or was particularly tasty or memorable, but at the same time nothing was wrong with the meal - it was just fine. The patatas bravas for example looked decent but didn't have any hint of spiciness, and the bruschetta was on soft bread, not toasted as the menu stated, but the topping was pleasant enough.
All told we both felt that the meal was fine - not bad, not great, just fine - and felt very rushed due to the speed with which the food was...
