If I could give it 0 stars, I would! 1 star is being generous.
I ate here with my family of 5 today and as soon as we went in to order, we were told to put our drinks away and that we were on camera. Fair enough, but we were going to buy drinks with our meals anyway. We placed our order and I’d asked for the mango and lime as it’s the lowest level of spice on the list. She kept tapping on the screen telling us ‘check your order’ as if it was too much effort to read out and confirm at the end that she’d taken down everything correctly. Once placed we were waiting for our drinks and after a few minutes of us standing at the counter she glared at us. My partner asked if we could get the drinks as we were all thirsty (it’s a really hot day today). Anyway, my 2 year old spilt some drink on the floor so my 11 year old went up and asked for some napkins (baring in mind we are going to eat and there are 5 of us) she gave him ONE. My partner went up again and asked for more and explained our child had spilt drink on the floor and she just looked at him like he was asking for the world from her! Reluctantly she gave him a sheet of blue roll to clean up the mess. When the food was ready she rudely beckoned us over to collect the food from the counter which, we were the only people in the shop so it wouldn’t have been difficult at all for her to bring it over but we had already established by this point that she has no people skills!! There still weren’t many napkins so once again, we asked for more. Honestly anyone would have thought they were coming out of her pay!!!
At the end we mentioned that the mango and lime was actually a bit spicy - but when we spoke to the lady who served us we were met with rudeness and attitude, stating there had never been any complaints before and it’s not spicy. My partner tried it and even he said there was a level of spice to it, but she was adamant that she was right and we were wrong! All in all, it appears it’s the same lady who everyone is complaining about how rude she is and has absolutely no customer service at all. The reviews are being replied with ‘we will address your concerns with the team to ensure a better experience in future’ but clearly they aren’t or so many people wouldn’t be making complaints about the same individual.
I would not recommend Pepes, nor will I...
Read moreAbsolutely fuming. I searched for Pepe’s in Brighton on Google, but for some ridiculous reason, it took me to the Tunbridge Wells website. Completely misleading. I only noticed after placing my order that it was going to Tunbridge Wells and not Brighton.
I contacted them immediately to cancel, and was told they couldn’t do it, and I had to do it but I didn’t have an option to cancel the order. I then asked for a refund, which they also refused. A man named Ali said his supervisor or manager would call me back to sort it out. Guess what? Still no call.
I phoned again, only to be met by a rude woman who could barely speak English and wouldn't even let me explain the situation. She kept talking over me, being completely unhelpful, and frankly, disrespectful. I explained again that I was promised a callback which never came. She then said she’d call me back. Still waiting.
This whole thing is a joke. Avoid this place at all costs. It’s a scam and a joke of a franchise, they take your money and ignore you. No customer service, no accountability, just absolute rubbish....
Read moreI got a delivery, although not through their website as they don’t have to order through which is a downside. However, this did not worry me at the time of eating my meal as it was a wonderful takeaway!
I ordered the chicken and rice box with hot spice and the chicken was so moist and flavourful. The rice was packed with seasonings and the chicken added extra succulent flavours. Small portion sizes at Pepe’s are not a thing! They do not hold back!
I recommend for takeaway as it is such a value for money. I am still yet to sit in but i have heard feedback from friends as they have similar comments to me, this just proves delivery doesn’t change a...
