We came here for the Tunbridge Wells Fringe Festival. It's a lively crowded and friendly atmosphere. There's a few tables outdoors.

Nicely hidden little pub in the Sussex mews. Also operates as a secondary location for the legendary Forum. Good beers/ales on tap.

Decent pub with decent beers, I’ve come in a few times this year and the choices are good with rotating guest beers. Most of the staff are very efficient and nice (although sadly there is one who can be a bit of an acquired taste depending on what mood they are in). Special mention to the Scottish guy who is exactly what you want in a bar person - efficient, friendly and calm, no matter how snowed under.

There is a little cellar venue which seems to put on a variety of different live acts (although we’ve not been to one…yet).

The main thing that lets this place down is the clientele. Early seems fine albeit with a staggering amount of people playing videos and tik tocks loudly from their phone speaker (including staff sometimes) which I personally find extremely rude and off putting. Perhaps it does not bother others so much? Later in the evening seems to be a very young crowd who are clearly imbibing large amounts of cocaine or other similar substances. Rowdy and sometimes intimidating if you’re an older person or even just someone who does not partake in that sort of thing. Overall a good pub but we sometimes will go somewhere else depending on what the other customers are getting up to. Appreciate that it’s a tricky thing to...

We held our son's post funeral celebration at The Sussex Arms in December 2021. Not only is the pub absolutely lovely but the pub's team are incredible. It's hard to express our gratitude for their kindness, generosity and compassion. The pub had very special meaning for some people who were very close to our beautiful son and it was their recommendation because it was Jack's favourite pub. It was obvious from the moment we met with the team why Jack had loved this cosy, ambient pub so much. Not only is their beer and cider amazing, the staff is an absolute credit. Highly,...

We were looking for a place to take a break from driving and get a warm drink to get away from the cold. It was very chilled and relaxing and we played a couple of boardgames. Unfortunately we found it a bit weird that they didn't serve hot chocolate 'at this time'. It was 5pm in a cold and rainy sunday afternoon. It would be one thing if that just didn't serve hot chocolate in a pub at all, but it seems that they did offer it but just not at the time we were there which just felt strange.

It was otherwise really lovely and felt like a...
