Meze By Night/Maze Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Uttlesford

Unfortunately my husband and I suffered food poisoning after eating in the restaurant 2 weeks ago. We know for a fact it was from the mixed meze starter as this was the only dish we shared. We were both violently ill from the early hours of Saturday through to late Sunday. I informed the restaurant who were not willing to take responsibility without proof following medical intervention. It was a disappointing response and we won't be returning to the restaurant.

I came here for lunch on a Saturday, not dinner. I was expecting Turkish cuisine but discovered there is a different daytime menu, more standard cafe fare. I ordered the spicy kebab wrap and the banana milkshake.

The service was friendly and fast. The wrap was not spicy at all, and a bit dry, but otherwise fine. The milkshake did not have real banana, just flavouring. And although it had icecream, no spoon was provided, so I ended up using my fork to finish drinking it.

The restaurant had a warm cosy feel to it, and I expect the dinner experience...

Decent restaurant but nothing special and too expensive. Firstly the interior is really nice and the staff are friendly. Service was also excellent and both starters and main were brought out quickly. The starters were delicious, we had the meze and the falafels and both were incredible and would definitely get them again. The mains, however, were disappointing.
