Caffe Capri - Horbury — Restaurant in Wakefield

After moving to Horbury recently and we are trying out some of the local cafés and pubs we thought we would try here for lunch.

I ordered a latte but got dark chocolate on the top 😳. The reason I don't order cappuccino is because I don't like dark chocolate. Lattes are made with milk. Anyway ordered the lasagne which came with a lot of fries Wasn't really a lasagne more like bolognese with toppings. Tasted fine and my partners sandwiches were good. Only had one drink as we weren't offered any more nor anything else Plenty of staff, no interest in the customers. The staff are unhappy, don't smile and say it all really. Weren't interested in keeping the place clean and tidy Not sure how you can work in such an untidy place.

The cafe could do with a clean and tidy The outside could do with a tidy The staff could tidy up especially if they are just walking around between the two outlet's I'm not sure how you miss the paper and plastic bottles rolling around the floor unless no one is interested. I don't normally give such a long review but there's plenty to say I think this place could have potential with the right staff. Service has gone down hill on my last visit, the place is dirty (cobwebs full of dead flys by the booths and floors filthy), they even charge 50p for a glass of tap water!!!

In response to your message: if we left a nappy behind then it was an accident and I apologise, it certainly wasn't intentional (obviously not helped by the fact you have no baby changing facilities or anywhere to put a nappy).

That doesn't take away from the fact the place needs a clean. Seriously, just a look at the floors under the seats where the booths are, take a look down next to the area by the front window. We've been regulars at your cafe until now.

You also put multiple 50p's on the bill for glasses of water, then said it was for the ice in the tap water? Either way, if you're going to charge for ice in tap water when buying £40's worth of breakfasts with coffees & smoothies etc. then you should probably let people know in advance or put it on the menu. It is one of the more expensive places around the area. We knew on arrival it was popular as it was really busy, We managed to get a table. Unfortunately, this place was a little too busy, and there just wasn't enough staff. I got up to order but was told they would come to us. I waited just short of 15 minutes, which in fairness isn't all that bad. But after the order, we were told we were looking at 20 to 30 minutes wait for food, which ended up being 40 to 45 minutes. There was one chef in the kitchen, and he was doing his best. The food when it did arrive, though, was spot on could not pick fault with it. I'm happy it was worth the wait, we ordered breakfast omelette and a standard breakfast, and there was plenty.
