The Last Bank — Restaurant in Wakefield

Me and my friends came here today for bottomless brunch. The place was extremely busy and at the time was understaffed. We were late being seated but were told we could have double drinks instead - not a problem, we weren't ordering cocktails so didn't wait long for them to arrive. Then it came to ordering food. For some reason, the bar menu is completely different to the website menu. My friends ordered pizza and nachos. I wanted the chicken strips but apparently they don't come with the duck fat chips - the website states different so we ordered them separately. The chicken strips then came with chips anyway (as well as the ones we had ordered, they had done more than needed apparently) but they weren't duck fat chips. I have been before so was disappointed. Anyway, despite of this, the food and drink we received was lovely and Beth, our server was amazing. She was attentive and made sure all our needs were met (even sourcing salt as apparently everything is now next door at Erubi). The only other niggle we had was that the bar was cold - I even heard other people complaining. Overall, the food and drinks were lovely, it's just the little things that...

Arrived at 7.30pm and staff couldn't have been more rude. Was told we needed to order food as soon as we got to the bar as the "kitchen was shutting in 5". So we quickly sat down and waited for them to serve us. Quickly picked what we wanted from the menu and waited 5 mins before the server even came over and could tell they didn't want us there. A few minutes after we ordered they came back over and said we've only got 1 burger left so "one of you can have one, the rest of you will have to order something else". Not even an apology, and they just stood there expecting us to order something else when they'd taken the menus away. It wouldn't be so bad but we were the only people there and it was as if they just wanted us out so they could close early. Anyway, we cancelled the order, drank up and left. Won't be going back and doubt the place will be open much longer with the lack of business and terrible...

Place looks amazing and good to see a great selection of food, drinks and live entertainment.

Nice that they have kept some of the atmosphere of the old bank and features. Roomy and spacious but can get busy on event and weekends. Good website and social media links. Great outside area at the back also. Food is good and not the cheapest but good quality. You can always call in during the day for a coffee or tea too.

Would have been a 5 star but unfortunately they have cancelled the comedy nights which I had booked for the summer which was a disappointment 😞 was looking forward to them. Something about it being too lighter evenings for a good atmosphere for comedy evenings...begs the question whether the passing alcohol trade is more lucrative than the comedy nights? 🤔

Anyway hasn't put me off and will certainly...
