Have eaten with tulsi on a number of occasions. Before tonight - excellent have previously rated 5 ⭐- and I was looking forwards to having the takeaway today. I have had the naga jalfrezi - and it’s been great, fiery and flavoursome. Tonight, the takeaway was awful. The containers were half full. All the dishes were bland. Like everything had been diluted with a bland generic sauce. The meat was super dry. Very disappointed, £80 later there was nothing good about it. We also paid for a rice that wasn’t delivered. Previous visits have been good so hopefully just a bad night. Will maybe revisit when I can to review again and decide whether to find a new curry house.

Had a lovely meal at Tulsi’s last night ( mixed starter, mixed jalfrazie, rice and a family garlic naan. Staff friendly, attentive and efficient. Nice decor . Being a Thursday, we’re clad we booked. Ps the onion bhaji is to die for as is the naan. Main meals were made with fresh ingredients and very flavoursome.

Hands down this is the best Indian in Pontefract, and I've not found anything as good nearby either. The food is very reasonably priced with good sized portions, the service is friendly and at the right pace. Give it a try!

We have been coming to Tulsi for many years now where the food has been excellent and the quality of service good

However, our latest visit to the restaurant has been our worst experience to any restaurant ever

We booked a table months in advance for a family celebration meal, we arrived on time and were advised that there would be a few minutes wait for the table……

1 hour later we were still waiting to be seated, the staff were not bothered and fobbed us off saying the table would be a few minutes longer with no apologies

The staff were blaming the customers for eating too slowly and not leaving their tables quickly….on observation it was clear that the problem was with the kitchen not bringing food out in a timely manner not with the customers who were waiting over an hour for main courses to arrive

In the meantime more and more people were arriving at the restaurant for their pre-booked table reservations, to the stage where there must have been over 30 people waiting to be seating all of whom were being told the same story.

At this point we made a decision to leave as we did not appreciate being told a pack of lies by the staff who were not interested one bit.

As a good will gesture, we would have expected complimentary nibbles or drinks to have been provided for all who were waiting to sit down for their meals. However this was never going to happen

As a result, we will not be setting foot there again which is a shame as we have...

We arrived at the restaurant, sat down to order and was then told they didn’t serve alcohol. Why didn’t you tell us on the telephone? My hubby then searched Pontefract for a bottle of wine leaving me for 20 minutes with our starters. We booked our meal for 6.30pm because we thought it would be quiet (passed experience of eating out in Castleford and surrounding areas) couldn’t be more wrong! It was so noisy, we couldn’t hear each other talk. All we could hear was groups of men and groups of women shouting, screaming and laughing at each other like they were in a nightclub at the end of the night! It spoiled our rare night out, so disappointed. We rushed our food done, left loads and stood at the door to pay, we couldn’t stand...

Sunday 22nd August 2021. Excellent meal as usual. Staff excellent. Just a pity that said meal was runied by the Mother and Baby Club at 8pm. When did the modern parent start believing it was ok to let kids sit on the table? When did the modern parent decide it was ok to let kids play music from a tablet out loud? When did the modern parent decide it was ok to let kids just roam around the restaurant? When did the modern parent simply decide that basic manors are not a thing any more. Selfish parents taking babies and young children to a restaurant with no facilities for brats, but they dragged the brats along anyway because the selfish parent wanted a curry and wouldn't pay for a baby sitter. Stick to...
