We've just been today for my father-in-law's 97th birthday. Staff were very accommodating, including making a show of presenting the birthday cake we brought along with sparkler candles at the end of the lunchtime meal. Food was all really good, as it always is, and we were lucky that it fell on a lovely sunny day. Lovely atmosphere of customers and staff all joining in to sing happy birthday and give the old fella a big clap! Wheelchair access is pretty tricky, with a ramp rising from the roadside to the main door, but there is still a raised threshold for the doorway itself to cross. There is also a static sign at the door that makes it a bit harder to get the right angle to ease the wheelchair back on the rear wheels to get over the threshold. Even harder getting out of course, as you then have to head down the short ramp! All the same, access within the pub is good, with the entire floor all level, and they have a disability access toilet just to the side of the bar on the same level. Basically, a lovely pub, right next to the beach, with disability parking on the road itself as well as a nearby car park. Tricky main door access, and I'd think very difficult for an independent wheelchair user. For those assisting a person in a wheelchair - doable,...
Read moreDO NOT GO TO THIS PUB IF YOUR NOT A LOCAL. If I could give this place a 0 I would. Me and my boyfriend went last year October time and the staff was very rude to us which we thought was weird but we went again this year and oh my god. We looked online and it says serving food from 6pm onwards and they close at 10pm we arrived here at 8:20pm and when we walked in nobody greeted us so we had to ask for a table I then asked “are you guys still serving food” to one of the waitress and she look at me and we stop serving food at 8pm this means that they only serve food from 6pm till 8pm (2hours) so we thought oh okay oh well when we left there was still people eating food inside they then closed the pub at 8:45 even though it says they close at 10pm Was so disappointed with this place they have been rude to us and they need to figure out when they stop serving food and when they actually close We ended up going to dominos 15 minute drive and the staff in the dominos was the best ever they even gave us extra sauce So again don’t...
Read moreWe have visited the refurbished Amroth Arms twice now for Sunday lunch, (having been regular Amroth visitors for many years). We booked for the very first Sunday that roasts were re-started, and then again with friends last Sunday. On both occasions it was a very enjoyable experience, the food was excellent, and nice not to have the meal all pre-plated. Sally and her team of staff were very welcoming, and the service and food were great. One of our friends who was with us on Sunday for the meal, is a very, shall we say 'discerning' diner, and the meal had to be hot and good, for him to eat it, otherwise he wouldn't eat it, but he did and that we can assure you, represented a good recommendation. We all had a dessert, which is unusual, but they were very inviting, home-made and excellent. We will definitely be returning to this very welcoming and smart...
