So Iâd never been in here before, but passed it loads of times.
Popped in to have a coffee, check the place out and sit and write up a few book reviews.
Staff were very welcoming. It was light and airy, nicely decorated and plenty of seating.
It was rather busy when I came in yet service was fast. Being hard of hearing I donât like places when theyâre very busy but this place was ok. Busy but quiet conversation and not noisy at all.
Itâs a great place to come work, plenty of sockets to plug in a laptop or iPad to work on. Quick fast Wi-Fi as well.
There was outside seating that would be really nice to use in the summer.
BaseKamp is also a dog friendly place whicj most places are not. Got to meet Dil the resident Collie. He was a bit timid and shy but a really nice dog to meet.
My coffee was tasty and was just what I needed. Having finished I went to the toilet. I always judge a place by how clean they keep the toilets.
Safe to say the disabled toilet I used was spotless, grab bar also provided. Emergency pull cord was available. However only the one in a corner and it didnât reach the floor.
The disabled toilet also had badly changing facilities as well.
All in all a great place to meet friends, have a coffee or a central place to work from.
Next time Iâll have...
Read moreVery close to central retail parks and the station - set within a spacious, bright and clean coffee shop mostly based on an upstairs mezzanine and with plenty of outside seating too. Easy to meet someone here for a coffee and chat and not be disturbed by other customers/ also a good place for you to come and work and not feel as if youâre taking up lots of space. Good toilets.
Other coffee shops in the local area didnât look as nice to be honest and thatâs why we settled here ! Staff at the counter were very friendly, as others have said the dog Dil engages with the customers but lets you be.
Coffee was good - seemingly no extra charge for alternative milks as opposed to what the menu on the counter said (+60 p seemed hefty so we were happy about this). Hard Lines coffee was being sold but Clifton Coffee Roasters in the grinder.
Cakes as a standard at the counter. There was a âRind and Grindâ food menu, but it was heavily focussed on bacon bagels and, whilst there were a few vegan options, these didnât tickle us as we are not a fan of fake bacon/ facon/ fegan fitems.
We are curious how much it costs to rent such a good space within the area and seemingly in an old ? listed building too. Would be perfect for intimate gallery settings/...
Read moreBaseKampâs delicious Oat Milk Flat White has put their spot high on my favourite coffee shops to visit when in Swansea. But since discovering their New Mexican CĆ”tchitas Brunch menu, BaseKamp has now triumphantly trumped all other competitors.
My coffee order shall always remain the same: Flat White with Oat Milk. Goes without saying. And the quality: perfection as always.
I unashamedly admit to trying everything on their CƔtchitas menu; yet my recent button-bursting obsession is their The Torta Bomba. A mammoth bread sandwich brimming with Mexican Potato and Chorizo Hash. A flavour combustion for the taste buds; spicy chorizo, salty feta, sweet Fip Flop sauce, tangy House Salsa and sour pink pickles. Can we take a minute to appreciate the dainty little pink pickles? Squeeze the lime, nibble the chilli, sip the coffee, conquer and devour!
I shared this with my fella; I too make mistakes.
I recommend all who appreciate fantastic coffee and outstanding local food to storm BaseKamp and keep this little gem of a coffee shop...
