We passed as they were setting up. We said we'd be back after shopping. We came back about 3 hours later and Sam remembered us. We got some fresh juices to know. It's very clear he knows his menue very well. There are 32 different ones on the menue and he knew straight away what number the ones we wanted were. Very friendly and inviting. The juices were so good that we decided to go there for dinner that evening. The restraunt is very clean. And has a sleek look without feeling too intimidating. You can smell the fresh ingredients. And see them on display. I explained that I have a very weak spice tolerance to the waitress. Sam came out and explained the things with no spice. And what kinds of spices etc would be in the rest of the food. I ordered marinated lamb chops with rice. And my sister ordered a lamb and a chicken kofta. And more juices! Food came quite quickly. And tasted amazing. The lamb chops were meaty and full of that good roast lamb flavour. The koftas had a good depth of flavour that highlited the lamb and chicken beautiful. The rice was fantastic. Very morish. And the nan bread. Fantastic. We spent about £40 in total which was great for the meal we had. Huge portions which we couldn't finish. Sam was wonderful and really knows what hes doing and loves what he does. We traveled 2 hours for our trip to Swansea and would travel that same jorney back just to eat...
Read moreI'm a big fan of Turkish/middle eastern meze style food. Back in Essex and surrounding London areas we have some seriously good restaurants in this cuisine.
Locally, this is one of, if not the best.
Starting with the main meals. The meat is decent enough and cooked with nice enough seasoning over hot coals as it should be. Rice & salad is fine. But it could be jazzed up, sometimes there large clumps of lettuce and red onion that should and could easily be given some more care.
They serve mini nan breads with the food, which are better than you'd expect, and VERY cheap to add if you want more.. but a good upgrade would be if they did proper Turkish style Pida breads for each dish, removing the kebab with the bread for all the flavour, again just a preference.
The fresh fruit juices here are excellent. And well priced.. Many great options to choose from
Staff are friendly and attentive.
Restaurant atmosphere is a bit mix and matched. I've been when there is large families with groups of children running around bare foot jumping on the furniture, and I've been when its pretty low key and quiet. Both are uninspiring.
Cost to quality ratio is fine.
Would recommend for Grilled meats and social catch ups with groups.
Worth a visit if you...
Read moreYesterday we went to this restaurant for the second time (ever) on my wife's suggestion. On a positive note, the staff were polite and friendly, they can take your order and bring your food. Unfortunately any other kind of communication is quite impossible. I was disappointed with the restaurant's poor menu, there are no specific Arabian food choices here or very little. I didn't want to not eat and spoil the evening for my family and friends, so I ordered a lamb shish. Although the meat was quite tough, it tasted nice, however that was definitely not lamb but some cheaper diced beef steak. I never thought they do such things in a restaurant, it is unbelievable. My daughter had some grilled chicken and that was dry and tough. But she is too young to know that's not restaurant food quality. The waitress kept asking if everything was OK, but I didn't want to make a fuss and complain, since the food wasn't terrible, albeit not what I ordered. I would have definitely not left a tip, certainly not for the food. They were lucky my wife paid. Was very disappointed with this place on this occasion and I can't recommend it. As I said this was my second visit here and now it's my last, unless I get dragged in...
