We were given a voucher to have a bottomless brunch, so we went to try it out and had a lovely time. I'll go through the three categories: Food: I had the Shack Stack Burger. Very tasty, the sauce is perhaps a little sweet for my liking, and it started to fall apart, but a knife and fork sorted that out. The cocktails were excellent and tasted great. We did our best to get our money's worth of a bottomless brunch and got through 7 or 8 cocktails in the 2 hour slot, so we were rather surprised to walk out feeling sober! Not sure if the measurements are adjusted or if we have a very high tolerance to alcohol, but even my 5ft wife felt very little buzz... Service: Outstanding. Mystique and Olly (I hope I got your names right) were very attentive. When our glasses were empty they quickly turned up asking if we'd like another. Very friendly and polite, very good at what they do and made our visit a pleasure. Thanks guys! Atmosphere: It was a weekday afternoon, so obviously going to be quiet, but it was warm and cosy. Nice views of Castle Gardens. Decor was really nice, and ambient Carribbean music in the background. Toilets (mens) could do with a refurb, if any other feedback. But we had a lovely time, and thanks again to the guys who served us, you were awesome.

The food at Turtle Bay Swansea really let down the whole restaurant. The waiting staff were absolutely lovely as were the bar staff who did everything they could to make our experience really nice, but the kitchen let it them down massively. The food took nearly an hour and a half for it to come out. We were warned that there was a 40-minute delay on the food but after an hour it got excessive and then we had to continue to wait even longer... The cocktails were made really nicely and we enjoyed them whilst we waited. When our food finally came out lots of it was cold as it had been sitting waiting on the shelf for the rest of the food to be made. We were a party of seven so I understand this as larger than normal but it's still not a huge table size. The jerk chicken wings were absolutely soggy in a watery sauce which we actually left and didn't eat. The Kingston Fried Chicken came out cold as did the squid which meant that it was all tough and chewy. We spent nearly £250 and everything felt mediocre and rushed. A service charge was added onto our bill automatically which we thought was a bit cheeky after such a fiasco. We left it on there as we felt that the waitress deserved it after all of her running around, but actually the restaurant didn't warrant it as the food was atrocious and the kitchen was slow. It wasn't a particularly busy night, there were so many empty tables. Not the best experience of Turtle Bay and we definitely won't be going back. Such a shame as we really enjoy Jamaican food. I hate leaving a negative review as I absolutely love eating but the food really didn't live up to expectations.

So, my partner and I thought Turtle Bay would be the spot to celebrate their birthday, especially after all the hype online. But let me tell you, it was a major letdown. At first, we were digging the vibe and the staff seemed cool. But things went downhill real quick. Our food came out crazy fast, like suspiciously fast. Turns out, it was probably because it had been sitting around for ages. The Jerk Chicken Wings? More like Jerk Chicken Meh. They were tiny, cold, and flavorless and dreadful spring onions sprinkled on top. Seriously, it felt like they'd been cooked hours ago and left to wither away. To top it off, it was my partner's birthday, and we were hoping for something special. But nah, those wings killed the vibe. We tried to boost our mood with some Long Island Iced Teas, but even those were a letdown. Lots of ice, and barely any booze. Overall, Turtle Bay was a big disappointment. Despite the cool vibes and friendly staff, the food and drinks just didn't cut it. We left feeling bummed out and not likely to give it another shot. We had high hopes, but sadly, Turtle Bay didn't deliver. Don't get me wrong, Turtle Bay has potential, but if you're looking for a birthday blowout, you might want to scout out some other joints.

We went to TB for dinner on a Tuesday night. The decor was nice but as a Jamaican-Guyanese coming from Canada, I felt like the atmosphere catered more to non-Caribbean people. We got there just as happy hour ended (6:31pm) but we were still given the deal, which made us quite happy. The drinks were great! Unfortunately when we ordered the jerk platter, we were told that they were out of jerk chicken. Mek mi wan fi cuss! How dem nah have jerk chicken?! We ordered the yardbird and jerk ribs instead, and side plantain. The ribs were mediocre. Tastes like watered down grace bbq sauce; which if you know about jerk, you know that’s not good sauce. The yardbird was decent. We were impressed by the size. The best thing we ate was the plantain. I’m very picky about it, and this was the best restaurant plantain I’ve ever had! Personally I would label this restaurant as Caribbean inspired. If you’re looking for true Caribbean food, go elsewhere (or find an auntie’s house). The drinks, service, and plantain were the best points. Although not overly impressed, I would go again to give them another try as the menu is extensive and the desert looked delicious!

Called in on the off-chance on a Tuesday evening. Staff were welcoming and attentive when seating and taking our order. We had the drinks deal, which was 2 black cherry Rum with Coke, which was very good. However, I was a bit disappointed with my food. I ordered Mac 'n' Cheese bites as a starter, but they were very overcooked, to the point that I couldn't cut them without bits flying off everywhere. For main, I had the half chicken with gravy. Unfortunately, it was very dry, to the point I struggled eating it. I made good use of the sauces on the table so I could finish the meal. My partners squid starter and chicken burger main was very good, so it was a bit of a mixed experience. I would go back but would choose something different to eat next time.

Came to eat here on a very wet Monday evening - but definitely felt warmed up by the food and service! I had the jerk chicken with rice and a rum and lemonade. The jerk chicken is really good - well grilled and with loads of flavour, and the rice was also really tasty. The selection of rum is quite extensive and I ended up getting a lighter white rum which went quite well with the lemonade mixer. I thought the service was great, and I got a lot of recommendations on what to order for food and drinks. Overall - a really good experience and recommended for anyone looking for Caribbean food and drinks in Swansea!
