After a long mornings walking with the family and dogs we were glad to get to Conwy for a sit down and stock up on drinks and ice cream, being the nearest shop to the carpark and offering traditional Welsh ice cream I entered the Castle Gallery hoping to to purchase all the frozen treats and liquid refreshments we required. Unfortunately upon entering I made the fatal mistake of asking the proprietor if I could first have my dogs water bottle filled as it had been a particularly warm morning and had used it all refreshing the dogs during our walk. Whilst standing next to a sink behind the counter he pointed at the fridge and explained "there's bottles in there" now I know my dogs are worth the finest Buxton or Malvern spring water at whatever hugely inflated price he was asking for them but after due consideration of what I was about to spend in his establishment refreshing the family I didn't consider a quick splash of council pop for the pooch's was to much to ask for. Can I just add that if you find yourself in Conwy and feel like a nice frozen dairy treat atop a waffle cone then do yourself a huge favour and take a short walk to Parisella's Ice Cream Parlour located on High Street, a far superior establishment with friendly staff that actually smile. As for the gentleman with a face like a smacked arse in the Castle Gallery well he can pop his ice cream so far up a certain orifice hell need a damn good proctologist and several hours to...
Read moreAfter briefly skimming through prior reviews I felt no hesitation to express one of my own. After travelling two and a half hours on a Saturday morning to visit Conwy castle, with my pregnant fiancé. We found this cafe ideally located on the attraction car park. Branding itself as a cafe/ tearoom and gift shop. We felt this would be the ideal location to refresh. On entering the cafe we noticed the restroom door wide open. So as far as most cafes I’ve ever visited in the Uk the Restroom facilities are usually available to the customers, for hygiene purposes (before you eat) at the very least. We’ll not hear I’m afraid, an extremely hot headed lady, quite aggressively shouted at me in front of an audience of other customers, this left me and my fiancé in a state of shear embarrassment. So we left with a immediate effect and found some beautiful cafes a just few minutes walk away. I’ll re iterate, the toilet was on the SHOP FLOOR and WIDE OPEN. A solution would be to hire a handyman to fit a lock or something or at the very least...
Read moreCafe is on the car park for Conwy Castle and has lovely views when sitting outside in the sunshine, the staff are quite honestly a little rude and unfriendly. Waited about 10 minutes before the gentleman acknowledged me even though I was standing literally in front of him, when he took my order he was a bit snippy. The lady bringing the order couldn't crack a smile despite how pleasent we were to her, the coffee was nice though, Welsh cakes were poor and I make better myself at home! We cleared the table for the staff, shouldn't have bothered as they didn't even look up to...
