Charlie's Celtic Tavern — Restaurant in Wales

We are on holiday and last min decided to eat out. When we entered we was blown away with the decor. It is absolutely beautiful what a welcome sight. We were shown to a table right in the middle of the restaurant, which was very bizarre as the restaurant was empty apart from a few ladies having drinks near the bar the other side. We were asked what drinks we wanted and promptly came. We waited a while for our food order and worked out it was because the chef wasn't available as he came rushing through restaurant and the Bar girl was telling him the order as he was going in to the kitchen. Not much on the menu for the evening more selection for lunch. Had the terrine which was dry, pulled pork burger was nice, onion rings on the side were dripping in oil. The young lady was on her own was very nice, would have liked to have paid at the table rather than paying at the bar on...

Unfortunately we didn’t have a great experience. Our server seemed disinterested and when asked to provide a cocktail menu was very reluctant to do so. When we ordered our main meals my partner asked for a steak which comes with your choice of potatoes. She did not ask how he would like the steak cooked nor did she ask what potatoes he would like. I had to tell her as she walked away which she didn’t seem pleased about. We were excited about the food but both of us ended up being quite poorly from the meals I had the lamb shank and had to actually go to the bathroom twice during my meal to vomit which can be seen on cctv if staff don’t believe this. We visited Charlie’s Restaurant for the very first time yesterday and it certainly didn’t disappoint. As soon as I walked in I felt instantly ‘at home’ .. the beautifully designed decor was not only a feast for the eyes but felt incredibly cosy too. With it being December it was dressed for the season, with two beautiful Christmas trees adding to the festive vibe. We had Sunday lunch .. my husband and grandson had the beef and I opted for the chicken. The ‘Molly Parkin’ parsnips were absolutely gorgeous and made the perfect accompaniment to our meals .. which were all absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend this delightful little...
