Went with a group of 25 friends for a Xmas lunch and the food was excellent as was the service. The menu was a lot better than your average Xmas menu with some great different choices. They have a good selection of lagers and a real ale with normal pub prices. There is a large car park across the road. Will definitely return and try the normal menu.

First visit and will definitely be returning. Went as a family and the kids enjoyed their food which was a bonus as it meant we were able to relax more and enjoy our meal. The portions were very big and we we were left full and satisfied. I'd like to visit again and try the Sunday roast next time. Service was good too.

Recommended this place by the owner of the guest house up the hill and I can't understand why so many negative reviews this place is friendly, good quick service and the food is excellent, will definitely be coming here again when next in the area..

Have been here many times before, always had nice food and friendly helpful staff. Three of us called today plus our Jack Russel. As a dog friendly pub, we were going to sit in the bar area. But it was so sunny we opted to sit out in the large outdoor seating area.

We could see the menu has more options than when we had last visited, and new faces behind bar.

The food was outstanding. Two pie of the day, which were Steak and Ale , quite honestly to date The Best Steak and Ale Pie I've ever had. Stunning. And one Chicken and Lamb Kofta on skewers, with a BBQ marinade. She said the chicken just melted in your mouth. We also had deserts, a very generous portion of Bread and Butter pudding, which was Amazing. And a Cheese cake of the Day, with Biscoff, and ice cream. Really quality, beautiful cheese cake.

Will definitely be returning soon, to work through the many mouth watering options on the menu

Very friendly and helpful staff. They were very busy today, but still were very chatty and...

I was excited about going here after a few friends telling me the new owners/chef was very good.. So our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children aged 2 and 6) went for Sunday lunch. It was very quiet and we were seated quickly, which was lovely. The normal children's menu was not on offer and we were told we could have a child portion of the Sunday lunch. The child meals were not listed on the menu but were charged at £8.95! Each! Bit of a surprise when the other child meals were £5 ish on the menu. To be honest the Sunday lunch was a disappointing, undercooked veg (broccoli, carrots and colli) and the beef was hard and appeared to be pre bought sliced. I probably wouldn't have minded paying if I was blown away by the food. Very overpriced for the quality of food. I'm not...

Although the attitude and treatment of the wait/bar staff by the head chef/owner was appalling, I could not fault our service or food. We were warned as soon as we approached the bar that there was a 45 minute wait until we could order our meals, but this was done in a friendly and apologetic tone. Although very busy, the staff we dealt with (2 young ladies and a young man) were all courteous and helpful. When we were finally able to order and receive our meals, they were generous portions, delicious, and great value for money. I would hate to see this lovely little pub lose custom due to being short-staffed, as will be likely if the owner/head chef continues to rage at and insult the staff for no...
