I’m desperate to enjoy this place, as it’s local, dog friendly, great coffee and a great vibe. I’ve visited a few times over the past couple of years and each time I’m just so annoyed at the food. The portion sizes and presentation are just terrible for what they cost, first visit I had avocado on toast which is something like £8.75. Two slices of toast, one with a bit of avocado on and the other just plain with no butter. Had to ask if this was right, and requested some butter and more avocado which they did give me. But cmon, you expect so much more for that price. Another visit I’ve had the full English, £10.75 roughly and it was just so tiny! One sausage, one bacon, one egg and mainly a plate of beans. Today I’ve visited again with friends after a nice walk. Ordered poached egg on toast. £6.55 I think, and they don’t even butter the toast for you 😶 it’s not cheap by any means and I just wish more effort would be put into presentation and portions. See photo attached. So you have to carefully remove the eggs to avoid them breaking, butter your toast and then put the eggs back on. Just butter it for your customers! We all sat there and said we wished we had gone to Longplay instead, the presentation and portions are much better for your buck. The coffee is fab and I love the cakes and pastries. Just really needs a huge improvement in the food area.

We visit Esquires coffee shop regularly and we have NEVER been disappointed. The coffee shop is very modern, very clean and the staff are always friendly and quick to serve. We frequently pop in for coffee and cake but we sometimes have food too and the table service is quick and the quality of the food is delicious. We also love that we can take our furbaby. He loves to visit and usually just quietly sits on the floor and rests. There is usually a few dogs in the coffee shop but they are always well behaved and never a disturbance. We now choose to go to Esquires before Starbucks or Costa. If you haven't been then I encourage you to go. You won't be disappointed. Plus, you can park directly outside the coffee shop, for free, which is great for when it rains.

I've visited Esquires Coffee in Caerphilly several times now, and it's quickly become one of my favourite spots in town. The café offers a fantastic variety of food and drink options, from pastries and snacks to more substantial breakfast and lunch choices. My go-to order is their caramel iced latte, which is always spot on, and a toasted sourdough sandwich. What really makes this place stand out is the staff. They’re always so friendly and welcoming, which creates such a pleasant atmosphere. It’s also never overly crowded, so my fiancé and I have always managed to find a table without any fuss. All in all, Esquires Coffee is a great little café, perfect for a casual bite or a relaxed coffee break. Highly recommend!

Visited on the 20th Feb around 10.50am. Wasn't v busy. Picked a seat and hubby went to place order. We ordered poached egg on toast x2, 2x lattes. Waited a little while for a waitress to bring one plate of food which to my horror was poached eggs. They looked disgusting! Watery, snotty bits, the other egg was solid. How on earth can the staff think it's OK to serve people that? Waited another 5 mins for,the same waitres to bring my hubby's poached eggs. His didn't look nice either. I complained to the girl and asked i could speak to the manager... " No, she's not here " was her response. So, if there's a problem when the manager isn't there.... what do they do? My hubby asked for a refund for the food. There was no way we were going to eat that. The waitress refunded 5.95 x2 for the poached eggs. So poor. The coffee wasn't great either. No wonder if there's no manager to check everything. Won't return. Yuk!...
