Golden Dragon — Restaurant in Wales

This was the worst food - I am amazed at the low standard. We ordered through a local delivery company and ordered satay sauce which was thin yellow soupy substance with no flavour and certainly no texture. The crispy chilli beef was simply dried out batter with no middle and certainly no beef. The chicken was tasteless and all of it was just hollow of any flavour or care of preparation. I've worked in this industry and this is just poor - poorly presented, poorly cooked and with no thought or care. This was further proven by the response when we presented the issues to them through the delivery company - they didn't care and told us this is how they cook their food. So we will vote with our feet and I suggest you do - it's just dismal in every way and it's not even cheap. I have just checked their reviews here and they argue with everyone who leaves a low review - this is indicative of their approach so waiting to see what they say is wrong with mine - wrong place? Unfortunately I can’t leave a ZERO STARS review.

We ordered a box meal from Golden Dragon and it was, quite frankly, appalling. Everything in the box was deep fried within an inch of its life. The chips and chicken pieces were completely hollow, overcooked, and dry — totally inedible. There was no freshness, no flavour, just greasy, brittle scraps that bore no resemblance to a decent meal.

When I called to complain, I was met with resistance and only after much back and forth was I grudgingly offered £4.50 back, despite having paid £25 in total with delivery. That gesture did little to make up for such a disappointing experience. There was no apology and I was told the locals like it this way and they wouldn’t be changing it.

This was, without exaggeration, one of the worst takeaway meals I’ve ever had. I’ll be leaving feedback on TripAdvisor and in the guest book where we are staying to make sure others don’t make the same mistake. We will certainly never order...

I don't normally write reviews but having seen the one star review whilst looking for the menu online I felt I had to leave a review.

We too had a Salt and Pepper share box and it was lovely. Lots of food and it was all really well cooked, lightly battered, the chicken was fresh and tasty.

Great salt and pepper flavouring that the Golden Dragon prepares and the onions add to the flavour.
