Hollybush Hotel — Restaurant in Wales

Warning to all Dj'S and Artists in the entertainment industry in and around the cardiff area Saturday 22nd jan 2022 i had the misfortune of covering a venue for the Regular Dj at the Hollybush in Pentwyn Cardiff my contact details was given to the licency (Karen Woodward) by the Dj that was unable to work that evening. I was then contacted by her over " whats App" and arrangement's were made to cover the venue although it was only a few hours notice After the evening had concluded i was approached by the then a drunk landlady and was told payment would not be forthcoming by her and i was to contact the previous DJ for payment as she dont see why it was her concern as it was his work i was doing unable to deal with the matter with a drunken landlady at 12oclock in the evening that acted like a 15yr old in a school yard .i then left without payment I contacted the Reg Dj the next day; To find that when she said she had already paid him for the night. what she didnt say was she had already knowing received the payment back into her account before id even been contacted by her that day I dont say this lightly nor do i post negative comments ,but after over 25yrs of being in this industry and a licency myself too.ive never seen such a immature and unprofessional person that has a dutie of care for her customers and others around her please be aware of this when taking a booking for this venue or visiting this...

I’ve been going to the holly bush for over 12 years now. Number of different managers and staff. The pub is still the same yes with new faces but isn’t that a good thing? DJ mostly every weekend. There was always fights in the pub but in my opinion I’ve seen less in the last couple months or so that I have previously. Saturday was extremely good for my nieces 21st, absolutely packed more than I’ve seen before. Who cares it has new managers and what ever they are doing it’s must be doing something right.

One of the only local pubs left and have been there over the last 20 plus years on and off from when it was run by Stephens to now and a great pub, always really friendly, prices are very good considering prices these days, they do a good range of food too and have a top beer garden 👌 staff are always very friendly and always looking to keep the customers happy by asking what they want and arranging nights for them like karaoke and private singers, poker, quizzes, kid’s bouncy castles and face painting and more.
