We had wanted an inexpensive meal for the family served quickly. McDonald's was our first thought. With the added option of a drive thru, it is considered fast and convenient. However this evening we chose to sit in. The car park wasn't overly full, this McDonald's shares the car park with the neighbouring garden centre, so parking can sometimes appear limited. However, there is sufficient additional parking at the front and an over flow parking lot available on the way out. Inside, there was plenty of ordering screens available and my children, whizz themselves around the screens. This is a lot easier than standing in a queue asking tweenies for their orders! Once food is ordered and a dedicated table number collected, we took our seats to await the food. I always tend to find these diner type places to be quite untidy, just because of the volume of customers that pass through and the limited number of table staff. However, this evening was fairly tidy, the waitress was very smiley and talkative, offering a choice of condiments. The food was good, each person choosing a type of beefburger and fries meal with a cold drink and each person enjoyed them. Two people went onto order the limited McFlurry dessert, whilst one child played on the child friendly iPad available ok in store. We, a family of four had food, desserts and was out back in the car in forty minutes. That's why it's called a fast food restaurant. Does what it says on the tin, which is why it has three stars, not necessarily fine dining, buy it is...
Read moreNot too much to say really. If you have been to McDonalds previously then it's just another McDonalds.
But if you haven't been to McDonald's before, allow me enlighten you.
McDonalds is part of a huge chain of fast food eateries. This one has a drivethrough and a restaurant. The drivethrough is all I have used here.
When coming into the premises you see signs for the drivethrough. It is split into two lanes with large menu boards on the approach to - and surrounding the order point (large box with a screen, intercom and camera.
When the intercom activates you will be greeted to McDonald's and asked for your order. Tell the server what you wish for then check the screen to verify your order and the total cost.
You will be prompted to go forward to the next window where you need to hand over any vouchers you are redeeming and pay the required amount. On completion of payment you will be asked to go to the last window. There is usually no wait here as your meals are bagged and handed to you. Should there be a delay it is possible you may be asked to park up and your food will be brought to you. If asked to park up, drive forward and park in the collection bays (always the closest parking bays on exit of the drivethrough).
And that is it. ...

It was unusually meaty compared to other McDonlad's burgers, but wasn't too impressed by the peppercorn sauce. Also went with Mozzarella Sticks. The restaurant was clean and well-organised, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.
I also tried the Easter favourite Cadbury's Creme Egg McFlurry, which was a delicious treat. The ice cream was creamy and the chocolate pieces added a delightful texture combined with the sweet creme flavour. It was a perfect ending to my meal.
The restaurant itself was clean and well-maintained, and the ordering process was efficient. The staff were attentive and made sure my order was correct and that I had everything I needed.
The other bonus is the new Winning Sipps promotion using a Monopoly-style sticker stuck to the side of the drink cup, it was a no-win with just an entry to a prize draw via the app wich is as always buggy.
Overall, my experience at the Carmarthen McDonald's was excellent. The new menu items were a welcome addition and exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean and well-organised. I would highly recommend this McDonald's location to anyone looking for a delicious and...
