Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Staff Behaviour – Nando’s Bridgend (08/09/2025 at 20:45)
Dear [Deliveroo/Nando’s Customer Support/Manager],
I am a delivery driver working with Deliveroo. I am writing to formally raise a complaint about an incident that occurred at Nando’s Bridgend on Monday, 08/09/2025, at around 20:45.
I arrived at the restaurant to collect two orders. The orders were already prepared and ready for collection. I scanned them on the Deliveroo app and was preparing to leave to complete the deliveries. At that moment, a female staff member, who appeared to be in charge, rushed over and stopped me from taking the orders. Unfortunately, her behaviour was extremely rude and unprofessional. This is not the first time I have experienced this from her. Many other drivers have also raised concerns about her attitude. What is more concerning is that she does not treat white drivers in the same way, which makes me feel she is acting in a discriminatory and racist manner. Because of the way I was treated, I felt disrespected and uncomfortable. I even had to cancel the orders after calling Deliveroo support. Incidents like this discourage drivers from collecting from Nando’s Bridgend, as we do not feel respected. I kindly request that this matter is taken seriously and investigated, as no driver should be treated this way.

We arrived and saw the restaurant was quite busy but were told 10-15 minute wait for a table and even though time was getting on and we had a hangry 5 year old we decided to wait. After 20 minutes we were shown to a table and dumped there with not a word of what we do next. After a while I remembered we used an app to order on a previous visit so downloaded the app. Once looking at the app we realised that nearly half the menu was unavailable and choice was very limited but were found something each that we wanted and ordered. It seemed that everything had gone through, the money had been taken out of my bank. We then after a while wondered where we get our drinks as people arriving after us were getting theirs and people were going up to the counter to order which we didn't realise we were allowed to do as nobody explained anything. After 20 minutes we were informed our order hadn't gone through even though the money was showing as left my bank. By this time it was too late to consider ordering and waiting behind even more people that had come to the restaurant, so decided to take our upset daughter home hungry. I picked a table in the corner where we sat before and really liked it but the lady worker said it’s a table for 6 and can’t accommodate us. She took us to a different table and within minutes we noticed the table we would have loved was taken by another family of 3 (not 6!!!! like we were told and adamantly refused to accept to let us sit there) So just wondering: are there different rules for some people? Has this lady didn’t like our face enough? Shame on you for treating us this way and for ruining our night. Even if that table was for 6, it wasn’t a busy night, there was plenty of empty tables and we could have got the table we preferred.
