What a delightful place. Set accross from the Co-op. So you can park in the Co-op car park, use the Entrance by the Arch and visit this most exquisite historical gem.
It has 14 beautifully furnished rooms, each with a signiture style laid out with stunning furniture and beautiful accessories that you can purchase and take with you to style your own home.
Dotted through out the building are rooms with sofas and coffee tables or tables and chairs that you can sit on to enjoy a full on meal or just a tasty treat or a cup of coffee.
Just be sure to visit the counter to place your order and tell them where you are seated so that the wonderful, friendly staff, can bring your order to your table when it is ready.
There is no WiFi password here. Which I think is fantastic because it allows you to unplug and unwind and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere.
You can sit in the cosy adults only lounge with a cup of tea and cake or a glass of wine and enjoy a good book in silence, or sit In the dinning room and enjoy a meal with your date, or family or best friend. And actually put your phone away and really talk without the nasty distraction of needing to check your phone.
But please, don't forget to take a few snaps to share with your review to show your appreciation for the staff of this delightful little place as l have done.
And don't forget to bring your wallet to buy something stunning to grace your home or your wardrobe.
But most of...
Read moreHaving seen all the glowing reviews, both on here and some cycling places, we thought weâd take a detour to stop in on our ride to Brecon. Unfortunately it really was a let down in almost all regards. A panini cost almost ÂŁ10, which is on par with London prices, and (although presented in a âfancyâ looking way) was a pretty teenie portion size. Ingredients inside the panini were sparse and the plate came with literally 3 crisps scattered on it and a tiny serving pot stuffed with salad. Taste really wasnât much better and the panini was soggy throughout. I wouldnât have minded if this was from a school canteen but for an âaward winningâ coffee stop that presents their menu on fake golden frames and costs ÂŁ10, I might have expected better. The atmosphere inside was also very sad with non of the serving staff appearing as they even remotely enjoy being there. To top it off, the cake was also dry (again costing London prices).
If youâre hungry cyclists, or just hungry in general, thereâs a nice big Coop next door where for ÂŁ10 you could buy a nice big ciabatta, some mozeralla, tomatoes and pesto and fill yourself up for much less.
I wouldnât recommend coming out of your...
Read moreA friend and I went for Sunday morning coffee. We like to scour our local area for nice coffee locations and try somewhere different most weeks. Number 49 had great reviews so we decided to give it a go. The building is on the main street in Usk which has no parking so my advice would be to head past the building on the left hand side and turn left just before the river bridge where you will find plenty of roadside parking. We walked up to the entrance which is on the side of the building and saw some seating there which was a bit old and tatty and ordered coffee. It was only when the owner came up to us and asked why we were not sitting in the garden that we realized the main seating area is at the rear of the building. Wow. What a beautiful garden setting. Lovely seating with plants and bushes all around. Birds love it and are constantly around. It's just a lovely setting. They are also dog friendly and brought water for my little puppy. Will certainly be making a regular visit...
