This isnāt the first time Iāve been disappointed with my food. I love a good curry and because Iāve not enjoyed there curries before I tend to go to pontypool and go to the Parbin instead. However, I ordered a curry tonight from there hoping it had improved and cause itās convenient! but I was wrong what a waste of money! I ordered a chicken tikka pathia curry got home placed it on my plate to notice lots of lemon peel. Ive eaten a few pathias in my time and never had lemon in it. It suppose to be a hot sweet curry. I rang to say i think theyāve given me the wrong curry as it didnāt taste like your typical pathia. The person I spoke to wasnāt willing to make this right or willing to listen and placed phone down. How rude. I suggest people should travel to the next town to get a curry. For one you get more value for your money as potions are small at the Dill and the Dill is much more expensive than other Indians I eat at. Never will I set foot in...
Read moreI really cannot believe the positive reviews on here. Either those reviewers settle for poor quality, expensive rubbish or won't, or can't travel to find a decent Indian, though the lack of any decent takeaways in the area may be the problem. We arrived at the Dil (having pre booked) at 6.45. I received my starter at 7.40. The food was very poor, my Samosas were thick and greasy and the filling was somewhat bland. My partner had a lamb bhuna which was mainly inedible because of the awful fatty lamb. Portion sizes are a joke as although we aren't big eaters the portion sizes were miniscule but expensive considering the small amounts and quality, nearly £4.00 for 23 rock hard frozen chips is not good. If a take away with a good business is reading this, go to Usk as the people there seem to have a very limited choice of very bad food. The one star is for the friendly serving staff, the only...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCalled in on way back from a trip on a Friday evening. Place was empty apart from one table but people back and fore collecting takeaways. Waiter service was very friendly and efficient. We opted for a starter and main and both were the perfect portion size and delicious. I tried the house red wine and this too was fab.
We definitely recommend this restaurant, and would return again. Thereās just an couple of observations, the interior could do with a little refresh as a bit dated, I would have the bar and reception near the door with a settee for people collecting orders to wait. That would save them walking all through the restaurant which I imagine is a pain when the place is full. The background music was on a loop, seemed to be the same song playing over and over which was a bit annoying by the time we ready to leave.
Overall though a pleasant experience and would return,...
