It's a friendly place albeit with sporadic opening times (it seems they generally only open when it's busy such as weekends and school holidays). Food is basic stuff but does the job. They serve all sorts of hot drinks.

One big issue raises concern however. If there's a few bits of food left at the end of the day, mainly the odd greenery, sometimes chips, they will take the tray out to the public bin near where the fountain is (I've personally seen them do this). Then will try emptying that tray into the bin. Unfortunately the gap for the bin is too small to fit the tray so they try and tip it through the gap. A lot of it ends up on the floor.

A lot of the time it's onions which are being poured into the bin and so when it's left, it's a serious health hazard for any dogs.

All it takes is for a dog to be picking up a scent around the bin with the owner unaware of the onions and if the dog eats any, they are going to be seriously unwell, perhaps even die as onions are poisonous to dogs.

For a place which seems to pride itself on being dog friendly, it's a complete contrast that they are this careless and irresponsible to be spilling onions over the floor and leaving it.

This isn't someone who bought something from the cafe, but actually the staff themselves. I've seen them and so have quite a few others. It's about time they stopped and disposed of food waste properly. See photos. It's around the bin opening and down the sides to the floor as they tried pouring the contents from the tray into the bin. If a dog even eats a bit of that, it will require an emergency vets...

First time visit to Aberdare Park & Cafe - definitely recommend! So much fun around the park and the cafe was awesome! Great menu, bright airy & up together interior, despite being really busy due to school holidays the servixe was not only very prompt but also personable! The icing on the cake was that the chippies were exactly how all good chippies should be - crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside - hot and a great price!

Thank you! Thank...

This morning we visited the park and the café with our puppy. Due to the weather we were very happy when we were allowed to bring our dog inside the cafe to sit. Since the recent renovations I am very impressed with the café. The hot chocolate was lovely, staff were so friendly and welcoming. The Dog friendly ice cream was a winner for our pup and locally sourced which we love to see!! All a reasonable price would definitely...
