Rumours — Restaurant in Wales

We were in town after a long drive, unable to check into where we were staying so we took a little walk around town with a mind set of finding somewhere to eat.

Our noses decided Rumours was the choice, the smell of a good cafe carried in the air for a fair distance. We were greeted by the staff as we arrived, they were all very friendly.

A good selection of food for a cafe at decent prices, you order at the counter and they bring it all over to you. We had a burger each and maybe it was the long drive or just combined with that wonderful bacon smell these burgers were awesome, home cooked fries as well all very fresh and filling.

With two mains and two drinks each we ate for well under £20 total which we were very pleased with.

Didn't enjoy the food. To start positively It was presented really nicely, the eggs they were actually wonderful, shame the rest of the meal was below the bar.

The sausages wasn't enjoyable, it felt like it was coated in something? Oil in a deep fryer is my guess,

1 slice of toast on a £8:50 breakfast is underwhelming, one hash brown too 🫣

I do feel my meal was largely supermarket ingredients when you eat out, you want it to be alittle special

Would've been nice if the drinks were stirred, ordered an bovril, it was just a square blob on my spoon

Atmosphere was nice, the server was catering to some older ladies and sorted the change out for them it was nice to see.

Usually a nice place even if expensive for what you get compared with other cafés. On this visit the service was shocking. Didnt appear to know what they were doing. Waited ages for food and drinks didnt arrive till after the food when we had to ask for them. Things missing of our order so had to go back to counter during our meal to ask for them. Even heard one server saying she was putting cups of tea in microwave to reheat them as they had been standing a while. Dont know what has happened to the place but I recommend you visit Silvers cafe up the road good food, good price, friendly and...
