Came here after waiting 4 hours for a train from Prestatyn because kids needed toilet, we're very cold and hungry. Price wise, it was fantastic pricing, £39 for 1 adult and 3 kids, 4 drinks and deserts. Food - out of this world, its been a long time since I had such great food, it was delicious Building - Very welcoming and very clean, play area for kids to the front Staff - Lady with long blonde hair I'm guessing was the manager or person in charge simply because she was guiding the staff members was lovely and polite, she appeared to have a great relationship with the staff and same for the staff, all staff were fantastic, welcoming, young girl who welcomed us assisted me with pram and got kids some colouring crayons and paper, they really were amazing Overall - I loved this place, the kids did and I never even knew it existed until a lady at the station mentioned it to me, I will 100% come back again. Well done guys, keep up the hard work, it is absolutely paying off, I'd give you all 10 stars if I could ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The restaurant has a lovely setup, with indoor and outdoor seating, a kids’ play area, and a family-friendly menu. The food was good overall — my steak was cooked well but could have used better seasoning. What let the experience down was the service. My first contact was at the door with a staff member named Chloe, when I asked about seating. Instead of a warm welcome, the interaction felt rushed and dismissive. Later, when I went to the bar for drinks, I was served by her again and had a similar experience — little eye contact and an overall cold manner that made me feel more like an interruption than a customer. I rarely mention staff names in reviews unless good, but in this case I felt uncomfortable enough that it was worth noting. To be fair, I had read many positive reviews praising both the food and the friendliness of the staff, which encouraged me to visit. Perhaps it was simply an off day for the staff I encountered, but unfortunately it left a poor impression.

Our personal review. My friends and I stopped going to this carvery 2 months ago due to the meat carver slicing very skinny crumbly small amounts of meat. Both myself, friends and people in the queue asked the meat carver why are you carving skinny less amounts of meat not impressed. Meat carver said the manager told us to. Prices have increased and you get less meat now. Carrots and broccoli are hard. Mash potato tastes like instant mash. Stuffing balls are hard and tiny and you are not allowed to serve yourself. Roast potato's are small, dried out and hard. All tastes like frozen packaged food. Meat seems steam cooked and tasteless. Carvery is over priced. Not good quality. Not value for money. Not as good as it used to be. We won't be going back again.

Been holidaying in Prestatyn since 2016 and I'd always used to make this place my regular go to for food but after my recent experience here it does genuinely sadden me to say something isnt right with this once awesome pub. Went for our first highly anticipated meal there on Monday post covid and i ordered large mixed grill, salmon and pannini for the missus and daughter. The wait for the food, bearing in mind the pub wasn't that busy, was over an hour which is something ive never experienced even when the pub was rammed. When the food finally did arrive, the steak was like rubber and my and the missus food was cold, not to mention if that was a 'large' mixed grill, id hate to see their regular one......very disappointed, but i put it down to an 'off' day and out of loyalty to the place, brushed it aside and decided to return the day after.

I wish i hadn't bothered

Pub was a little busier than the previous night, ordered our food but this time we waited nearly 70 MINUTES this time (with people being served their food who ordered after us). But by the looks of it we wasn't the only family having waiting issues and after seeing 2 other families with clearly hungry young children go up and complain about their wait also, i realised my once happy relationship with this pub was ending. Again, when our food arrived, there was issues....had to send the pasta back as we'd ordered it with chicken and the chicken had been left off the plate and my daughters salmon was cold. "What the f**k is going on with this place?" I frustratingly said to the missus. A part of me was nigh on upset at how this places standards appear to have slipped and i said the words i never thought id say.....'im never coming here again'😞 2 bad experiences in a row is no coincidence abd when i walked out the cookhouse doors, i knew it was for...

Awful experience. 8 of us went for my parents anniversary meal planned last min, what a mistake that was!! A group of around 12 Children were allowed to run wild throughout the back restaurant while being completely ignored by the staff, the management and all their so called parents. Screaming and shouting, running around, climbing and jumping on tables after 8pm at night?! Absolutely ridiculous! We witnessed a toddler with a dummy jumping up and down on a table holding onto a light fitting and staff just walked straight passed him. When brought up with staff, they told off one or two children (but said nothing to the group of adults) so the kids just carried on screaming and running around like animals once the staff had gone again. It would have been better to go to McDonald's than sit in the middle of that. I know it's not staff responsibility to control other people's children but if they can't even enforce their own policy regarding children in a public place like ANY other pub then it what's the point in having one, just hire a kids entertainer and have done with it. The manager did eventually come over to apologise as we had finished our meal but the evening was already ruined. I felt embarrassed to have suggested the cookhouse in the first place and couldn't apologise enough to my family. Such a shame as the food was lovely but will not bother going back, it would be quieter in a...

Well cookhouse to the rescue last Sunday thank you cookhouse! We firstly around 4pm visited the Sunvierge in Rhyl for a carvery and around 4.30ish we were in a state of total disbelief to be informed they had run of carvery. Being Sunday carvery is staple so we called cookhouse in a fluster and they were so welcoming right from the call. Reassured us the carvery was on and to head down. We arrived at just before five by train. Was seated and all the staff were so happy with that nothing is too much trouble if needed attitude. Very friendly very refreshing. There was music in the restuarant something that I personally love, not too loud either that you couldn't talk happily also. So we went and got our carveries and wow the gammon was to die for! Melted in your mouth. I am a veg girl was able to pile them up lots of options too carrots, peas, brocoli, cauliflower cheese, green beans and some lovely veg mash which I always enjoy seeing to a carvery as Its a great alternative for not like potato's. However my husband loves potato's and there was many different potato's offered. I looked at the rest of the menu for future visits whilist I was there and it looked interesting with hanging kebabs and mixed grill amongst many other items offered. Thank you again cookhouse. We recommend others to have you to mind firstmost for their...
