Shaad Narberth — Restaurant in Wales

We’ve used this place just as a takeaway for years and never been disapointed. But recently we had our first sit in meal which wasn’t a good experience. The interior is old and in need of a refurb, the service was very slow we sat for ages while others who came in after us got served first, and non of the waiters really spoke or offered any apology. The worst part was the fruit flies! They were everywhere, not just the odd one or two but there was 10s of them swarming our table then they’d move on to another table before returning shortly after, constantly swatting flies away from our food. One of the nicest and tastiest curry's I've ever had!!! We ordered a takeaway here as we didn't realise it was a restaurant (until after ordering, we then noticed). Quick and easy to order via their website, gives you a 30 minute countdown until collection. The website gives you loads of information regarding the dishes. I had the chicken tikka saag with a kerman naan and my boyfriend ordered a chicken takeaway bhuna with a plain naan. I think for those items it came to £21 odd which in my opinion is not too bad! I was really looking forward to the shaad due to the great reviews, however the whole family was let down on this occasion. The service was great, friendly & quick. I have some constructive feedback for the restaurant to consider;

Poppadoms tasted as what I can only describe as burnt/bitter. Perhaps due to not changing the oil frequently. The chicken tasted stale and was very dry, there was no mint sauce with the tikka and far too many onions. Peshwari naan was lacking filling (two of which were forgotten) ordered three, received one.
