We entered this lovely pub soaking wet with a wet dog in tow too…. they could not have been more welcoming when we thought we were being a nuisance trying to dry off the dog! It is really lovely inside too - a great atmosphere with lots of events going on - but we were only there for the day. We ordered a small breakfast and a regular breakfast - both were huge portions for the price, and really well cooked. Sausages are normally disappointing in pubs (undercooked), but these were cooked well through and were delicious, as was everything on the plate, including black pudding which is essential but not always available in pubs….My gf is well fussy normally but loved her breakfast and finished the plate. Highly recommended…. (Photo is of regular breakfast for £8.95 (I think) without the mushroom)

Went here for my birthday, food was good as you can see from the photos, one of the meals, fish and chips the fish was a little over cooked so we had a word with the bar staff and without question they replaced it with another freshly cooked meal within a few minutes and also gave us a complementary drink, in fairness you can't ask for better customer service. They had a live act on the night we visited who was absolutely brilliant and really engaging with the audience we had a fantastic night. I would definatly recommend the Five Arches Tavern, Tenby.

Lots of exposed brickwork which adds to the character of the pub. Also exposed beams on the ceiling with fairy lights a glow. Three individual areas to sit. Dog friendly and wheelchair friendly to a degree. Absolutely full when I arrived. Very popular place serving food. Usual tap beers and a couple of real ales available. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Beer was good and the food looked amazing. Well worth a visit. I enjoyed my visit.

Visited here today with my 20 Yr old son and wife for a nice lunch after walking five miles from Saundersfoot. Would like to say we were greeted with pleasant staff, but they gave off the impression someone had just died. Barman (or manager, couldn't tell which, but the guy had a massive chip on his shoulders so probably a want to be manager) was rude, incoherent when questioned why he wouldn't serve my son a pint with food as he'd forgot his ID. He's 20,looks 20,and can be served with food if accompanied by an adult aged 16 or over according to UK law, but he seemed unaware of this, just as his staff seemed unaware they work in a service industry and should try crack a smile. It was also questionable whether the staff serving alcohol were of the age to do so, maybe his laws are different.

Anyway, here for a week, won't be spending any money there whilst we're here, and I'd advise you to do the same.

P. S.

I've just read the managers response to my review. With regards to educating me on UK law, perhaps he'd like to respond to why he let my son pay for the food and two beers (illegal for anyone under 18) Whilst stating he couldn't have a pint with his food because he didn't have I. D. On him? Which was it? Was he under 18 or not? If so, shouldn't have been allowed to pay for the beer and food, if not, then should have been allowed to have a drink with his meal. Seems in trying to enforce some kind of knowledge or authority on the subject, you lack both and either broke the law in your own eyes, or you just decided to not like your customers for...

Toughest steak I have ever eaten! Asked for well done but when cut into developed blood soaked chips! Will not return however female member of staff very apologetic. Offered a free drink! Having read your vile reaction to my initial review above I have something to add! Your eyes must have deceived you! I certainly did not eat the whole meal, only the food that I could chew and weren't blood soaked! The steak I tried my best to eat was going down in lumps and also with my partner! As I told the waitress at the time who was concerned I had left so much food, I do not like to cause a fuss but as you have retaliated to my review in such an insulting way, I too will have my say. I am not a complainer, I just never go back and would certainly never recommend anyone eat with you. As for accusing me of being a keyboard warrior I have said exactly what I said at the time. Also, if you bought a better cut of meat and hired a chef that can actually cook it to your liking you might find that you would be far too busy to insult a very unhappy customer online!!! You obviously can't take any...

*update- At no times did the waiting staff ask me if my food was ok. Once served I had no further interaction with them. We walked past other empty tables ( 1 right by the entrance ) to be sat at the toilet entrance. It's all good and well pointing the blame at the customer but this shows lack of knowledge of what the waiting staff / cooks are actually doing. As I said, Very poor experience. * First time visit as on holiday here, waitress put me next to the entrance to the toilets when other tables were free. Not ideal when your going to be eating food. Ordered hunters chicken with jacket potato. Over cooked chicken that was dry / under cooked jacket potato. Only thing that wasn't ruined was me lemonade! If I could give 0 stars I would. Avoid like the plague terrible food. Better off going to the pasty shop for a pastie. Tastes beater. Much cheaper and you don't have to sit next to the toilets! No wonder they ask you to pay before you get your food! As I wouldn't pay for...
