The location styling and ambiance of the restaurant is fantastic, it’s just a shame the food did not meet the same standards. We skipped starters and went straight to the main menu. We had “Oceans Muscles” & “Summerberry Fillet Steak”. The muscles were ok, a good sized portion that were tasty and neatly delivered. The sauce was nice albeit a little thick. The menu advertised the dish would come with “chunky chips & bread for Dunking,” the bread was forgotten. A side of vegetables ordered alongside this dish were also forgotten. The Summeryberry Fillet Steak is one of the more expensive items on the menu. It was really disappointing and not worth the £36.95. The meat itself was ok, a good size and well cooked. The garnish looked really sad and wilted, the Brie that is served on top of the steak was thin & bland, but worst of all was the summer fruits. They looked, felt and tasted like they had just been defrosted and placed around the plate to make it look fancy and colourful. It made the whole dish taste really sharp. The sautéed leek was ok. Overall the ingredients just didn’t compliment one another. Ordered alongside this was the Baytrees “famous” garlic cheesy new potato’s. Microwaved garlic butter and melted cheese stuck under a grill for a minute or two? It was really hot! Not sure how, but it was watery and not something a good restaurant would want to be famous for. Overall we were so disappointed we skipped desert, settled up having had to challenge the missing items on the bill and left. It’s not somewhere we would go back to.

This visit to the Baytree was.... Different the waitress that served us a lady with a blonde, brown bob haircut was snappy and someone who rushes it seems. We were not asked how our meal was yet people around us were asked from other waitresses making ours seem uncaring. The pricing was OK 13:50 for a Baytree Burger. When we took things off our order eg: tomatoes etc. Small miss understanding with "salad dressing" implying we had a salad with dressing and had the option to take it off. This is not the case you may have a salad with dressing or no salad. Following this there was mocking of us from the waitress this seems strange that she would mock when we can see them. Pointing and laughing from afar behind the bar. Finally my 8oz chicken burger was slightly under cooked In parts not too much but still noticeable thus I asked what seemed to be a manager / owner in a red dress with a injury to the leg poor lady. She did take it off the order but I make a point check your food. The garlic bread is very nice very cheesy Final words: OK resturant come if you are happy and by yourself not for a lot of people I feel.

Nice place but don't reccomend getting steak as the chef is seemingly unable to cook to temperature. We ordered 2 ribeyes, one medium rare and one medium, both 'upgraded' meaning they come with prawns and a cognac sauce. They both arrived somewhere between a medium well and a well done. Had this been the only issue we may have pushed on, but neither came with the prawn upgrade so we regrettably had to ask for fresh ones. Unfortunately what followed wasn't an awful lot better temperature wise, seemingly cooked differently on a flat top / cast iron rather than on a grill this time but again temps were over. This time around they did at least come with prawn & sauce. Due to the fact the 3rd person on the table had finished their meal at this stage we ate the second ones, which overall with all the trimmings were quite tasty despite still being way off. The starters, pate & soup, were very good and the staff were friendly and accommodative. Tenby has some really nice looking restaurants, so unfortunately I wouldn't reccomend this one.

An absolute must if you visit Tenby, though I would advise to book in advance, as it appears to be very popular, even in January. We booked following a friends recommendation, & was very pleased we did. My other half had 3 King prawns with sweet chilli to start, followed by the fillet steak which was perfectly cooked medium rare as requested. The parsnip mash base & the parsnip crispy ribbons on top were really tasty, & he would highly recommend upgrading the boiled potatoes (or chips) to the cheesy garlic ones, & along with the mixed veg, they really complimented the meal. To start, I had the homemade pate with the homemade onion relish. The salad was crispy, with a very pleasant & light dressing. My main meal arrived on a long thin plate, & consisted of 8 massive shell on King prawns, with salad & crusty bread. Chips accompanied the meal, but were hardly necessary, as the meal itself was quite filling. There was a good selection of desserts, drinks & coffees too & reasonably priced. I had a cheesecake & my other half had a Remy Martin brandy to finish the lovely meal. The restaurant is family run, & you can read about how they source the meats, fish & seafood on the menu, demonstrating how they support local businesses in the area too. The service was excellent, despite being very busy. Our only criticism (though not really an issue, & didn't spoil our experience), was during dining, there was a good singer/guitarist playing, but he was quite loud, & initially played quite lively songs, so we were glad we weren't sitting near him. Something more chilled would've been a bit more appropriate for the venue. We'd highly recommend The Baytree & we'll definitely be returning when in Tenby next. Thank you for a...

We've been regularly going to the bay tree for the past 2 years and it's always spot on. It's dog friendly and we enjoy the live music on the thursday. We went last week having booked a table a few days previously for 4 adults, a child and we had stated we'd have 2 dogs. On arrival they seemed to only have a booking for 4 people on a new computer booking system and we crammed on to a small table for 4 with the child having an extra chair stuck on the end in the way of the walkway. The staff were all friendly and attentive and were quick to clear things to make it more comfortable for us but seemed a bit disjointed. We waited close to an hour for our main meals with no warning of a wait on food and overheard a few people asking where their food was. We were asked if we would like dessert menus even though we hadn't had our mains yet. When the food came, one meal was cold and overcooked with the rest being lovely. Despite it being overcooked, we were asked if it was OK to reheat it. The fresh meal that was eventually served to replace it was perfect. Staff were also made aware of an onion intolerance and while the main had no onions, the vegetables came to share and were full of onions. The bill also had several items rounded up to a different price as stated on the menu.

We're really hoping these are just teething issues as it's obviously under new management and will return hoping it's improved back to it's usual...
