Despite it being Ironman weekend (Sunday), I was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly the evening went at Il Camineto in Tenby. The restaurant was busy, yet the staff handled everything really well. They were incredibly friendly and gave us a warm welcome on a very cold evening. The building and setting are beautiful, although some of the facilities could do with better upkeep. A big bonus for us is that this place is dog-friendly, which was a surprise. The only comment we had was to keep the dog on the inside of the table. The food itself was lovely. Italians truly are masters at making simple ingredients sing. The lobster linguine was the highlight for me. That said, I felt there could have been more lobster, and it would have been great if the chefs had shelled it beforehand, or perhaps a nice lobster tail on top with a whole claw. Don’t get me wrong, the lobster melted in the mouth, but having to break the shell myself, as a novice lobster cracker, left some shell in my linguine and it was not pleasant. Unfortunately, where we were seated there was an unbearable noise that sounded like we were sitting behind a coffee machine. We had planned to have dessert, but in the end, we decided to leave because of the noise. I would return but I would ask for a different table, and most likely try something else.

Visited this lovely Italian restaurant for dinner yesterday and we really enjoyed it! Food was amazing, with each dish being delicious! The calzone had a generous 3/4" thick layer of fillings, each of which were delicious! The ravioli were excellent, with a delicious filling and fantastic sauce. Each dish was fresh, well seasoned, and well portioned. We went on a night where they were very, very busy and unfortunately were short-staffed. This meant service was slow, but the staff were really trying their best and were very apologetic. We thought they did amazingly well given that one waiter was serving the entire restaurant. Honestly, we enjoyed the food and atmosphere so much we didn't mind, and when the waiter apologised profusely as we paid (without us having mentioned the wait) we knew the staff really were trying their best and wanted to do better next time. We will definitely be going back, and would thoroughly recommend it to all! And to the waiter who served us last night, our sincere thanks - you did amazingly!

The best Italian in the region, offering very authentic dishes that even my Italian fiancé was blown away by! You'd be doing yourself a disservice if you skipped over this one, it's an essential dining experience if you're ever in the area. I myself am a very severe Coeliac, and I was able to eat here with zero digestive repucussions. Eating out can constantly be a source of great anxiety for me, so if anyone else with my condition is reading, rest assured that the restaurant follows all food safety and hygiene standards to the letter :) Our waiter, Ali, and the rest of team were all amazing and even provided us with a surprise treat to celebrate my engagement earlier that day! Once again, can't recommend this establishment enough, anyone reading this should definitely visit! Cheers, Tom Warren and Preeti Kaur

My brother and his wife came down to Tenby for the weekend for a catch up, it was decided that we all fancied Italian, I had a Quick Look look on google and the choice was made, as soon as we entered the for we were greeted by a friendly young man who took our reservation details and asked if there was a preference of table so we chose a nice one by the front window looking onto the street. Our family arrived and after pleasantries we scanned the menu, so much choice the ladies chose Lasagne and us guys had sea good pastas one with a white parsley sauce and one with a tomato sauce, well suffice to say all plates were cleared the food was fabulous but we had to sample the desserts so it was 2x strawberry cheesecakes and one Tiramassu my wife decided not to have one, well these desserts were fabulous and the gent who served us placed the 3 desserts in front of us with a spoon to the side and then at my plate he placed another spoon facing my wife opposite me and smiled ( knowing my wife would want to try it). The whole evening and atmosphere was great, staff was first class and food was fabulous, we will be...

My new favourite restaurant in Tenby!! I’ve been twice with friends and we all have said how amazing it is. One friend is a very fussy eater and I’m a trained chef so we can be very picky when it comes to food . I never write reviews but because of the amazing staff, food and decor of this restaurant I felt I needed too. They opened mid season so have to say well done as that must of been a challenge in itself. I have had the antipasto Toscana twice and it’s been amazing both times. Pollo Alla Toscana was amazing and Stracceti Di Manzo was out of this world the sauce was beautiful. The young man who waiters and brings drinks round is extremely friendly and works very very hard we could see that. The chef bringing out to food the second time was a nice touch and food was piping hot. Ignore the negative reviews they have been finding their feet at an extremely busy time of the year and I’ve never heard any complaints from people who have been to the restaurant and I meet hundreds of people as I work in Tenby and will be returning in the near future. Keep up the...
