Had 2 nights here on the run! Thursday night, my birthday, a meal with 2 friends. Had booked a week prior and checked on my booking before arrival and there was a problem that I wasn't booked in. This was quickly resolved. Wasn't sure on this night where to check in on arrival, went around the side where beer garden was and found a member of staff who seated us at a lovely table. We had to go to the bar to order drinks and food and social distancing could be maintained with markers on floor and signs. Hand sanitizer available whilst queuing. Staff were lovely and friendly. On this night, I had food, ordered tikka, it was ok but not really to my liking (personal preference) but friends had steak and pie and both thoroughly enjoyed. Experience this night was great, expected a 2 hour slot but as it wasn't too busy, we stayed from 6.30 until almost closing. 2nd night was just for drinks. Again, staff lovely, directed straight to a .booth which was reserved and just had drinks that night. It was busy and not everyone was adhering to social distancing, not pubs fault, just customers not taking things very seriously after a number of drinks!! Toilet process was one in, one out, I didn't have an issue but I know people weren't really taking any notice of this. Hand sanitizer should be placed outside toilets as no option but to touch door handle after washing hands. Really enjoyed both experiences overall at Mayquay, thanks...

I’ve frequented The Mayquay four times in the last two weeks. Primarily to watch the football World Cup. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food is terrific. Generous in portions, like being in the USA, delicious, top quality without the sting in your wallet.

I’ve been on my own on a few occasions and twice with friends. When I’ve been on my own both staff and other guests have been very friendly. The punters genuinely seem decent people.

The service is efficient and wait times for food are reasonable. The staff are good at communicating wait times and accommodate by getting starters out as quick as possible. They have a good range of beverages. Payment is quick and easy. The staffs knowledge of where the tables are is sometimes a little shaky. I think this is because some of them are new. Not to worry they always find you!

I’ve sat inside the pub and also in that patio area. The bbq table is in good condition and there are plenty of TV’s in and outside.

If you don’t fancy watching sport then there are private outside areas that perfect for romantic dinners.

I’ve invited a few work colleagues to join me one night. I think we will have a fab night. The evening sun hits the outside patio and it really is very pleasant.

I’ll be back! The beef burgers are...

Had a lovely meal with my family here today, food was hot and fresh and arrived promptly. The barmaid Simona was excellent, attentive, remembered our drinks orders and very friendly. Drink and food prices very reasonable for the quality of the food. Toilets exceptionally clean and all round a nice atmosphere.

Only reason for 4* for service the young waitress working today was miserable and rude, I asked for some condiments, my daughter didnt get the sauce she wanted til after she finished nearly all her meal, i mentioned that i didnt need the sauce now as my she had nearly finished and she looked through me as if i didnt even speak and blatantly ignored me and slammed the pot of sauce on the table.

As i went outside for a cigarette i noticed the young girl had served a couple their food and they didnt have any cutlery, they polietly asked for some and the waitess muttered " ill go get you some" and rolled her eyes which i thought was very rude. Not a reason to put me off this wonderful pub but just annoyed me a little as she is probably getting paid the same as the amount as the lovely young girl that served us on friday who had impeccable manners and customer...

We booked a table for the Maquay unsure what to expect, when we rang we were greeted with a nice receptionist taking our booking for 5.30pm, on arrival it was quite busy with families & couples the place was very lively. The food is very reasonably priced & a good choice. I went for the Sunday Roast Beef dinner followed with a Ice-cream Sundae and honestly can say it was well worth it. The food was plentiful & very tasty. The service was second to none asking "was everything ok with the meal" on a couple of occasions. The Doom Bar was on form. In my view it was lovely well organised, well cooked and well served. We will definitely be paying another visit.

Now I believe in giving a restaurant a good shot. But it was unfortunately terrible I ordered the onion rings they tasted boiled and slid out of the batter. Moving on to the main I ordered sausage, mash in a large Yorkshire pudding sounds nice but again so bad! I can't belive they used powered or micro mash and a load of pointless raw onion I'm guessing to give it texture ! parts were cold I transferred the food to another plate to see if I could eat the Yorkshire pud well check out the picture the other thing was that even though the place was half empty there was a 1 hour wait? I'd suggest cross the road and go there!
