wow just I booked this over a month ago after many months of looking for a place for my Aunties 90th birthdady celebration. We took her there a few times over the last couple of months to ensure she liked it there we pre-booked and paid the deposit there were 18 so we booked a table for 14 which is the most they would accomadate on 1 booking and had another table booked for 4. so we got family down from yorkshire for this special occasion and they called us 10am on the sunday morning as we were getting ready and they cancelled he whole booking because the ovens wern't working. I begged them to do a cold buffet, they said no can't do it. If i could leave a 0 score I would for that. We managed to get a booking at very short notice for the Cherry Laurals in bridgend and they could not do enough for us all we had a fantastic day.. I will never book at this place again or even pop in for food. dont book it seriously they can turn around at last minute and cancel....

Food delicious but very disappointed in the service. We had pre-ordered in advance of a very special occasion only to be told whilst waiting for starters to be served ( not when we arrived) that much wasn't available. What's the point of pre-ordering. I had ordered fish cakes to start and had to order an alternative, some mains weren't available and when time to order desserts almost half were not available. The drinks took a very long time to order at the bar. There were plenty of staff , even though there was a couple of other big tables to accommodate. Would have appreciated a simple apology and thanks for waiting to be served and wewould have completely understood. Whilst waiting for a waitress to return to take our order for desserts, we had to ask for their attention because they were chatting behind the bar. Food is stunning , when it's available. Literally just been for Sunday lunch. Let’s start with the positive, food was lovely from starters to mains, to dessert. Not so good, not much meat which we can live with because the food overall was lovely. However, the service was shocking. Not very attentive, very slow service and food was missing from our order. We pre ordered one dessert as it is my dad’s favourite and they were running out of a lot of options, when it came for the desserts to come out, we all had ours except my dad. We asked if they had forgotten and the young waiter replied casually yes we have??. No one came over to apologise or explain. When they did bring it the young girl did say sorry about the wait but that was it. Unfortunately this made the experience one that we won’t be returning for again. I have given it a 4 star simply because of the food and hopefully staff can improve and not leave food on...
