Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Wales

Just been to Costa. Have to say I expected better during a pandemic. Track and trace was awkward as the app didn't scan properly. Thankfully the staff member on hand was helpful. Self service is poor. I know all staff need to wear masks but you cannot hear properly over the noise of the coffee machinery. Cakes etc were not clearly labelled. Had to shout to ask what they were. Customers were walking back and forth to collect beverages 😒. Staff weren't leaving sanitising spray on the tables requisite 30seconds before cleaning off. Floor was covered in crumbs and paper wrappings. Poor attitude of staff member on the till. Perhaps there weren't enough staff working which is a management issue and staff cannot be blamed. Won't be rushing back though...

Just had the most atrociously rude member of staff behind the counter talk down to my wife for daring to sit down while I was in the queue. My wife, upset as a result, would never dream of taking someone else's table, and the incident was very unpleasant.

Costa appears to have a real problem with customer service in this area as we feel certain shops are a no go. Talbot Green now added to the list.

There is a way to deal with people in a courteous manner that gets your point across without offending. Walking across the road to M&S we were greeted with a full cafe and a member of staff who clearly informed us we would have to wait, then directed us to a table 5 minutes later. That's how you do it and a clear difference in quality...

Not impressed with the place. Its a newish, fresh venue, but service was sloppy. Coffee spilled on the tray by the server but no effort to wipe it up.

The place was not very busy, with 3 staff in the shop area, all looking at their mobile phones facing each other either side of the serving counter.

There were maybe 6 or 7 tables with used cups trays etc. waiting to be cleared.

The toilet was in a state; it needed attention but I guess the staff were rushed off their feet.

This one was not the staff's fault; the cheese and tomato panini was so bland; almost no filling in it. My wife and I shared it and we both thought the same.
