I used the gym on Sunday morning 4th June. Walked through the doors and walked up to the counter which I still find to be a very uncomfortable experience, 2 young girls were sitting behind the glass and an older lady sitting on top of the counter behind them, could hardly be bothered to speak as usual, checking in is still my biggest hate about the centre. Now I’ve been using the facilities here a very long time, the state of the gym this particular morning was disgraceful, before I started my training session I re-racked all the weight plates that were strewn around the floor, put all the various handles and ropes back in place that had been thrown into a heap on the floor in the middle of the of the matrix multi gym and put all the benches back in place. The staff-less gym looked grubby and dirty, all the mirrors need a good clean and the machines a good wipe down and the whole room needs a good vacuuming. Now I know it was a Sunday but I only saw 1 staff member in the gym and that was about 10 minutes before I left, the 3 female staff members busy chatting at reception were obviously too busy to do anything else. Going back to the gym, it really is starting to look rough the walls are in need of painting and once again one side of the older multi gym isn’t working again this machine needs replacing. I’ve noticed that a lot of new members know nothing about gym etiquette, most don’t re-rack the weight plates or put things back after use maybe some polite signs are needed, also some of the ages are questionable as I thought minimum age was 16 to use the weight machines, again if the gym was adequately staffed then I’m sure this wouldn’t be an issue. Come on Halo don’t let standards drop, a great facility has now slipped to a good facility and it’s going to keep slipping if something isn’t done, you have so much competition now in Bridgend that you really need to start...
Read moreThis is a well presented location I didn't actually take advantage of any of the Sporting facilities or child play facilities as I was in attending an event in one of the rooms. My main criticism would be but it didn't have anywhere to put wet umbrellas and dump coats which meant the latter had to sit on the back of your chair and you lend against it which became uncomfortable throughout the day. I'm not sure what the arrangement was with regards to tea and coffee making facilities but the canister with coffee in had just a dozen individual sachets for a room of over 60 people and the milk was in a jug but there was no means to keep it chilled and no cover on that job to protect it from any bugs or germs. Also there was a small pedal bin which when people were throwing away the sugar wrappers the coffee wrappers and the paper cups it very quickly became overflowing and there was no attempt to empty or replenish anything during the day which meant after lunch there was more debris left on the table. I'm not sure if this has to do with the venue or the organisers of the event but there was no signage throughout the Venue until you got right outside the room they were using and we were told by the organisers that they had not been allowed to put signage elsewhere so that is something that may be best to dressed as I was not the only person who queued up to ask a member of the reception staff where I needed to go and a few signs would have directed people without the need to involve any other members of the...
Read moreBeen using the hydro gym for a few months, loved it, everything I could wish for fantastic staff, this place has the cleanest toilets but the changing facilities are absolutely appalling, the dust is now ground in dirt, there are dirt marks on the cubicle walls which have been there for 4 months people wear their outside shoes in the shower area and pool side. Parents of the children in the swimming classes walk around with phones in their hands in the changing rooms and pool side, there doesn't seem to be any concern that they could be taking photos of children, after bringing this up with the company, I was told by the duty manager that you cant stop people using their phones, well duty manager, yes you can, as it's your property, you dictate the rules as to where people use their phones, people manage not to use them in a cinema or a church or at a workplace. I looked up the company's policies online it states that no one should take a camera onto the premises without their permission, if this is the case, then everyone is...
