Called in after a fairly long walk as I had heard good things of this place.
We were not disappointed- greeted warmly by Cori who without prompting told us of the 2:4:1 offer on today’s specials being burgers - she then passed us some impressive menus and asked us to choose a table ( hint No 12 is perfect for watching Pontyclun go by) while she went to collect our chosen bottle - a very nice Chilean Merlot- from the cellar.
We chose our preferred burgers which to say the least were substantial and which came with very crispy beer battered onion rings, jacket fries and salad.
Once we had finished our meal we took the bottle with us out to the beer garden which was partially decorated for the Jubilee
Ok the view isn’t the best but the garden was adequately equipped with picnic style wooden tables and umbrellas
The grass had obviously been recently mowed and added to the overall ambiance
I would heartily recommend The Windsor- it’s clean, neat and has great offers.
Credit too to the staff especially Cori who were friendly and professional
Seems to be well supplied with tvs as well.
We’ll definitely be back to try the other offers.

Read moreWe booked a table for 5 people, one who was wheelchair bound. Firstly, the 1 blue badge car space was occupied by a car not displaying a blue badge. Had to squeeze car behind bins after blocking entrance whilst getting friend into wheelchair. No signs saying disabled people to use back entrance. We use ramp out back, had to move all tables and chairs to get wheelchair through to door. Had trouble getting chair through door as there was a trough/ hole on door entrance. Really struggled to get in building. No help from staff. We were placed at other end of restaurant as we were a table of 5( 1 couldn't make it). Had to push wheelchair up another ramp which had highchairs all lined up there. Top of ramp, we had to ask people to move their chairs as couldn't manoeuvre wheelchair around them. No room. All in all. 3 of the 4 meals were excellent but the child's meal was unedible. Overcooked and chips had been dipped at...
Read morePleasant environment and atmosphere from the guests. Party of 5, ordered food and when we went to check on its status after 40 minutes the staff told us it would be 'soon'. Another 20 minutes and it arrived. Ordered the rump steak and found it was pure gristle with no actual steak! A very poor cut. The chips were cold and solid as if they'd been left out all day and several of my party were also unhappy with their meals. I asked a waitress for ketchup and mayonaise she only brought the ketchup and gave me a huff when I politely asked again for mayonaise. It wasn't a particularly busy night, a few tables and people at the bar, and felt it was too much of a burden to complain about the food due to the moodiness of the waitress. Have had food there once previously and it was lovely but we were the only customers, after this experience i wouldn't recommend...
