Me and my family (14 in total) come here at least 16 times a year for birthdays etc costing around £350 a time. However we all came again on 11th February for my daughters birthday, the food was amazing as usual BUT the service was poor, we didn't get asked if we would like more drinks, we chose the set menu but it wasn't explained that there was an extra charge for a naan with the Biriani. The manager was rude and very condescending, after our meal there were no hot towels or coffee liquor with mint chocolates as there always has been in the past. When we came to pay we were not given a bill the manager decided instead to tell us what we needed to pay and even had the nerve to tell us to round it up (£45 he said round it up to £50). We still don't know what the total cost was. If we had been treated properly and given a bill we would all have left a good tip, instead you only got £10 and that is because you added the bill up wrong and overcharged us then you added it up again and said we had actually overpaid by £10 which we just let you keep. Overall it was a terrible experience and sadly will have to find somewhere else to celebrate in the future. Why has your restaurant gone so bad have you got a new...
Read moreWe have been visiting the Tamaris for nearly 10 years as a family. The owners, management and staff have always treated us very well even when the children were very little and made an enormous mess. The service is second to none and in all of the years we have been visiting cannot say we have ever had a negative experience. I think I have tried everything on the menu. Particular highlights for me are the handi chicken, Naga and sizzling nibali. For less than £20 you can enjoy poppadoms and chutneys, a starter, main and a bread or rice. For a chef cooked meal to this quality £20 is a steal. I had the tandoori delux (mixed grill) on this occasion with a side curry sauce. Cooked perfectly, arrived sizzling. There was 9 of us, 6 adults and 3 children. All meals arrived together and piping hot. Also provided a complimentary cake with ice cream and a Bailey's to top. Great experience as usual. See you soon and also for...
Read moreLet me start off by saying the food here is stunning.
One of the best curry's I've ever had.
That said for 2 glasses of rola cola, 2 curry's and 2 sides costing best part of £60 it'd wanna be amazing.
The staff were very friendly and attentive until, we came to pay the bill.
The business is listed on the dine card club, which you have to apply for and pay for yet refused to honour the discount when presented with the offer.
Once this took place the staff became quite hostile, like we'd cause trouble over a £10 offer.
I politely paid the bill and left no questions asked.
It's a shame I'd of been a regular customer based on the food quality but the other parts of the experience were poor at best.
Amazing food, not worth the money.
Go to The New Bell in Great Barr the foods better and literally half the price.
Staff are lovely and the pop is fizzy and tasty.
Jeera could be amazing but is...
