Now we love an afternoon tea! To have somewhere that does one locally at such a good price! Lets start with cost, on average we have found an afternoon tea costs anywhere between £20-£30pp, at ego it's £15.95pp with the option to upgrade to enjoy either a fizz or gin and tonic for an additional £5. It feels like a deal. There is a fairly average selection of sandwiches, cakes, and scones, but this is exactly what you want from an afternoon tea. I felt like they were really conscious of dietary requirements. Now we didn't need any, but I'm confident they would be ready to make any adjustments if required. The restaurant has a bright atmosphere to it in the day. It's clean well set out. The staff were attentive and very pleasant. To park, there is paid parking around the back of the highstreet. It's not too far away, and as you are located on the highstreet at the restaurant, there is always plenty to see and do to make more of your trip into Kenilworth. I thought the afternoon tea here, while not the fanciest you know exactly what you are gettinv, and is absolutely lovely and we will be back 100%.

Beautiful, unique restaurant with an exiting range of food and drink. Really enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant and the staff were really friendly. The deals are clearly attracting people as it was busy for a Monday night. Very attractive offers. Drink: I would recommend the Lemon Drizzle cocktail. Light and zingy drink with a slight sweetness to balance out the tart with the vanilla absolute vodka. The house wine was also one to recommend. Food: The food could have been a bit better. The flavour was all there but I I found my main dish (Paella Mixta) to be slightly overcooked as well as the mixed kebab. Other than that the flavours were amazing and the starters were perfect. Would recommend the garlic prawns and muscles for starter and the steak for the main. Summary: Beautiful restaurant with friendly staff. Exiting menu and tasty food and drinks. Slightly let down by the execution of the food but this is not enough to deter me from eating there again.

Enjoyed an early Father's Day dinner here and surprised my husband with this restaurant but unknown to me, he had been wanting to visit! We had the calamari and camembert for starters, both being delicious. For mains, I went for the goats cheese and caramelised onion pizza with my husband choosing the cod. As I can't resist anything that includes truffle, I also went for a side of the truffle fries. Both kids went for pizza from the children's menu with my daughter going for the build your own - she was provided with a base, cheese, tomato sauce and 2 toppings of her choice (plus a chef's hat, fun touch) and the pizza was cooked after she decorated it. I was too full for pudding but my husband treated himself to a liqueur coffee and mini pudding. Great service and good atmosphere.

Just returned from a family meal and will not be rushing back. We visit Ego Kenilworth pretty frequently but tonight was a huge let down. Both the food and service has dropped massively. Started off bad when the waitress refused to serve us mocktails for our kids, saying it was company policy not to serve mocktails to under 18s, it’s mixed fruit juice for god sake. She then walked off and didn’t bother taking a drinks order. Kids make your own pizza was bought out at the same time as their starters! We had some dipping bread for the table but a whole uncut loaf was dumped on the table, we had to ask for the oil and vinegar. When we asked for the loaf to be cut so we could actually eat it, they refused and said the best they could do was bring a knife so we could cut it up. My wife’s main had baby potatoes on the side but this consisted of 5 tiny offcuts that made up no more that 2 baby potatoes and the smallest shrivelled up sea bass. I had the mixed hanging kebab, that had one tiny piece of lamb that was over cooked and hard and then only 5 other pieces of meat which were all overcooked. When I asked the waitress to take the kebab hanger away to make more room on the table so I could eat, she just rolled her eyes. Salad was dry and disgusting as if it had been sat out in the heat all day. Kids deserts are not as described on the menu. Overall really really bad. The older waitresses seem to have a really bad attitude and the service was really poor. Absolutely wouldn’t recommend any longer. It’s a shame as it used to be good food, not sure what has happened to cause such...

Went here due to good reviews from others. Unfortunately I don't agree with them. Service was awful, we were asked for a food order within a minute of sitting down. When we did order food we had to prompt for a drinks order to be taken. It took forever for our bill to be provided and then for us to be able to pay and there were still empty plates on the table when we left having been there for 3 hours for 2 courses due to slow service. I would like to be able to say that the food made up for for the service, but it didnt. I ordered lamb with dauphinoise potatoes, the lamb seemed ok but the potatoes, which were in a separate bowl, were hard and had obviously not been cooked properly. When I eventually got a waiter's attention they took the potatoes and asked if everything was ok with the lamb, I replied yes but it wasnt much good on it's own since he was taking away half my meal, so he took everything. He then returned to tell me the chef couldn't do anymore dauphinoise potatoes so I could have chips or new potatoes. I went for chips and regretted it as soon as they arrived. They were the total opposite of the dauphinoise: overcooked, some were so crispy I couldn't use my fork to pick them up, they had also re presented my lamb to me, not sure if this was meant to make me think it was cooked fresh, and left it under the hot plate as it was now over cooked and one of the slices was half eaten as I had obviously had some before it was taken away. Dessert was no better, my bread and butter pudding came with lumpy custard that had a...

We ate here on New year's Eve and were very disappointed. The service was disorganised and chaotic with huge gaps between courses. As a group of 8 our main courses did not come out until over 2 hours after our 7.15pm arrival and dessert was another hour later. Staff had to be reminded and chased multiple times about missing drinks that we'd ordered and missing meals. The main meals came out at different times too leaving some having to eat after others on their table had already eaten. This included myself and I was so disappointed that such an important night of the year I'd been looking forward to was being ruined by such poor service. Others were complaining too, I'm not sure if the restaurant was understaffed that night. The meal was £65 per person which I thought was far too much considering they were selling the same meal for £32.95 post Christmas. The portions I received were very small and although the food itself was ok I was quite miserable by the time I got my main course at 9.45pm as I had been hungry for hours. The Ego in Nuneaton is fantastic and I'd highly recommend it but I was very disappointed by this restaurant and it was such a letdown on...
