Although the place itself is very nice their staff particularly 1 lady. On the 10th .myself and a friend were going to have a bite of lunch at lunchtime my friend is a smoker and decided to have a cigarette before we went in. I said I would pop to the loo. As I went in and asked for the ladies a very sour faced waitress said they are for patrons only. I said my friend was outdide having a cigarette and then we eould be getting a drink etc she was very rude saying well get your drink first and then you can use our toilets so I did more than turn around and spent our money at the rocking horse cafe which may I add food. service and staff were first rate. Took our family there last Sunday lunchtime. Childrens' sausages and spirals were totally overcooked - they love sausages but these were left half eaten. The squid in tempura batter was practically inedible, tough and some undercooked. Burgers were over processed and dry as a bone, chips were good though. Liver was in a lump, not finely sliced. My husband's swordfish was small but he enjoyed it.

We had a long wait before and after drinks, not good with children.

Were we unlucky? Well, with our experience I would certainly not recommend it at all.

Maybe too many dishes on the a la carte menu and they do have a specials menu and a prix fixe also.Ambience good, not to noisy on this visit but the room is far too dark. Old geezers like me having problems in reading the menu! The food quality is good but maybe the chef over embellishes some dishes. I mean who has heard of potato Dauphinoise layered with carrot??!. The starter of Paneer Kedgeree could have done with the Paneer replaced with something more tasty and enjoyable. On the whole, good food if a little pricey. I may return but...
