Brilliant Place! Matching Tea Cups, Pots & Saucers (the pots pour quite well), lovely food, great atmosphere with stylish interior! Staff seem smiley and friendly. Tables are swiftly cleared and cleaned. Great place to go for small business meetings, casual coffee arrangements and an inspiring place to study or work for freelance workers/students. My new favourite Coffee Shop!

The layout is spacious with a small variety of seating options which appeals to a wider audience. It's immediate competitor (Costa) in most regards, doesn't even compare. Anyone with a poor word against this place has either had a bad day or they’re just grumpy and have nothing better to do!

Cleanliness: Coffee on the Corner's seating is clean, presentable, modern and comfortable for the average customer. The floors are kept clean, and the equipment is well maintained. Cutlery is kept clean & presentable and the pots pour. Costa's seating is often neglected. Crumbs & sticky stains are common place. The floors can be filthy at times but are generally kept clean. Cutlery is scratched from use and will often be presented with marks and residue from the dishwasher. Pots pour.

Service: Coffee on the Corner has trained welcoming staff, with a good work ethic, high morale and a boss that is present working with the team. As mentioned above, tables are cleared and cleaned swiftly. Costa has trained staff, who are more likely to cut corners, show little interest in customers, ran by staff that work for a large chain who may or may not care about the staff that work there. Tables are suitably cleaned and cleared.

Pricing & Product : Coffee on the Corner offers similar pricing to its competitors. The Tea is loose and comes in a small teapot and brews well! The standard of coffee will inherently be more consistent (as its locally owned). There are a range of great tasting cakes & snacks and can cater for vegan diets. Costa offers a pricing model that is nearly the same in all its chains. Tea served in Costa can taste very weak (almost like water) even after stewing the bag. The standard of Coffee can differ greatly between shops (some could be cold or weak, others too strong. It has a very wide range of products, often leading to a lot of food waste by the end of the day! Costa also offers a few vegan friendly products.

Conclusion : Coffee on the Corner is a modern slick clean coffee shop that concentrates on giving a great service, by great staff and tasty goodies. By concentrating on these often neglected business practices it distinguishes itself from its competitors, and has already started to attract a higher caliber of clientele.

For the new kid on the block, it’s put down strong roots and made a good impression. In the near future, it may benefit from providing small meals with slightly later closing times. In the far future a loyalty system for loyal customers would likely go down a treat.

Lovely...

Visited the coffee shop this morning for the first time. I live in the middle of Kenilworth and there is no shortage of cafés but it's nice to try something new. First impressions were good, it's nice and light and spacious. Service was friendly and quick with nice looking cakes. My cappuccino was delicious but too small for me but maybe they do a larger one. The main thing that might stop me being a regular is the lack of many comfortable chairs. There are a few but most are hard metal chairs and stools that don't invite you to chill out. I was with a friend and we would probably have stayed for a second coffee had there been sofas or armchairs available. I hope the owners do well but in a town with a good percentage of older people maybe a few more squishy chairs...

Consistently great coffee shop. Credit where credit is due. The staff make an extra effort to have a presentation piece on each coffee i.e. a leaf or heart etc. The brand of coffee is tasty and the menu options are great. I have to say the cakes are always to a high standard with gluten, Vegan and normal options available with good contrasting flavours and styles. The coffee shop is always clean and tidy and it's obvious that the owners and staff take pride in their work as it shows through the decor and cleanliness. We visit occasionally and frequent many coffee shops around Kenilworth / Earlsdon but Coffee on the corner is in my top 3 due to their consistency and friendliness. Great job guys, you run your business like you've professionals who've been at the trade...

There are a few coffee places here, each with its own personality. This one just has a nice energy to it, with various seating options: stools & high table, normal tables and sofas, staffed by people of different ages, music playing at a nice ‘background’ level. A place you could easily spend an hour or two. Lots of cake & slice options. I had the lemon and blueberry cake. For me, Miss Fussy Pants, the cake was a little dry and the icing too sweet, but I’m not marking the place down from 4 star because this is just my personal preference for non-sweet icing. I would recommend the owner / baker goes to Time for Tea on Castle Hill and tries their Lemon & Cherry cake for comparison of a moist, fluffy cake and an icing that isn’t overpowered by sweetness.

When we visit new areas we always try to support local independent businesses. Cafe on the Corner looked interesting so we popped in for tea and cake. The decor is lovely and the staff helpful. Orders are taken and paid for at the table. I ordered the vegan/gluten free chocolate cake-it was very dry/stale ; the waitress changed it for a blueberry cake which was delicious. At first glance the selection of cakes was amazing and it was good to see a few gluten-free cakes available, however, the gluten free cakes were in the same space as other cakes so high possibility of cross contamination.

Great options of cakes and brunch bites! Right in the middle of Kenilworth, this nice café has plenty of drink options, and food mostly on the savory side. The "All of it" egg option was very tasty and well presented. The "sweet one" was also well presented, but not so tasty (shop bought waffle and the fruit wasn't the best, had to pick some mouldy blueberries out). Overall very good, but depends on your choice of food. One single unissex restroom isn't enough for a place this big (20+ tables). Payment taken upfront and you need two transactions if you want to order drinks ahead of food.
