A True Culinary Delight at Southern Cross Watford!!!! ❤️😍😍😍😍😍
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Southern Cross in Watford, a restaurant that truly exceeded my expectations. This hidden gem of a restaurant specializes in British cuisine, with a particular focus on mouthwatering steaks. From start to finish, my experience at Southern Cross was nothing short of exceptional.✨
Upon entering the restaurant, I was warmly greeted by the attentive staff who guided me to my table. The atmosphere was cozy yet stylish, with dimmed lighting and tasteful decor that created a relaxed and inviting ambiance. It was evident that great care had been taken to ensure a pleasant dining environment.❤️
The selection of steaks available was impressive, with a range of cuts and cooking styles to cater to every preference. Each steak was prepared to perfection, cooked precisely to the desired temperature, and bursting with flavor. The tenderness and juiciness of the meat were simply remarkable, a testament to the skill of the chefs in the kitchen.🥰
In addition to the outstanding steaks, the restaurant also offered a variety of delicious sides and accompaniments that complemented the main dishes perfectly. From creamy mashed potatoes to crispy onion rings, every element of the meal was expertly prepared and beautifully presented. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ The service at Southern Cross was exemplary. The staff members were knowledgeable, attentive, and passionate about the food they served. They were more than willing to provide recommendations, ensuring that every guest's dining experience was tailored to their preferences. The waitstaff's attention to detail and genuine hospitality added an extra touch of excellence to the overall experience.
As a dessert enthusiast, I couldn't✨✨✨ resist indulging in one of the sweet treats on offer. The dessert menu was equally impressive, featuring delectable options such as a chocolate fudge cake and a rich, creamy cheesecake. The dessert I chose was a delightful finale to an already outstanding meal, leaving me with a lingering sense of culinary satisfaction.

Read moreI booked a table - That had not been booked. Was given a table in the middle of the restaurant that people could not get past and kept asking us to move. We ordered our food at 8.20 and was told it would take 20 mins, at 9 we asked where is it to be told that they were just plating up the steak. The food finally arrived at the table at 9.15 - with no apologies! The steak was smothered in pepper - which was not asked for. The lasagne was burnt at the bottom - so much that the knife could not cut the pasta. The waitress then started clearing the plates from our table when two of the people were still eating the last of their meal. We asked how long it would take for desserts and was told a maximum of 10 minutes - it took nearly 20. When we paid the tab (with our 25% off voucher, one of the reasons for going there) and complained about the food and the time etc we were told that you can only complain when the food is served to you. Normally we would have at at least two members of staff ask how the food was and no one came near our table the whole time we were eating. When they served dessert - we stated that one of the ice creams was for the birthday girl (my nan) and then when we had finished our meal, one of the bar staff came over with a bottle of the house wine fr my nan for her birthday. This is the wine that we had a voucher for to have free if 4 of us were eating anyways. And I have had the wine before and needed a pint of lemonade to make it even drinkable! We normally use this place on a regular basis and have until now never had a bad meal, but after this experience we do not want to...
Read moreI don't like writing poor reviews however I have to be honest. We stayed in Room 1.
We arrived and was sold the idea of breakfast BOGOF. Cocktail adverts so, requested one we had a very tiring weekend so needed it, then was told only do 4, and we was then told don't look like cocktails they were correct big glass of pop no alcohol flavour at all? We were thankful we added extra items to our meal as when it turned up on our stick table it was so tiny and items missing from the advertised meal. I asked the waiter where items were and the response was worrying we felt like we were out of order and he was in a foul mood. Restaurant was empty. I then reconfirmed breakfast with another person and told no breakfast it's Sunday?
Very tired we went to bed. The room was very dated and worn. The kettle struggled to get under the tap. The windows could not open, wallpaper peeling off the ceiling badly worn fixings. Fire risk externally live electrics uncovered and the fire doors opened directly onto stairs very unsafe. PAT testing questionable PAT stickers undated. Oh tv had one but tv hadn't been removed to do it. There was something that resembled a date that a child had made with a thick felt tip pen.
Overpriced £70-ish would pay no more than £40 for it! Itsok for a rough last minute stay away. Very disappointed and could be good if brewery invested due to fab location 10minute walk to Watford railway.
I've lots of pics but this site will not...
