Felt very welcome the minute we arrived ,was greeted by a lovely young lady called Tyler,,our first time at this quirky pub ,drinks were brought almost immediately ,we order two roast dinners ,shoulder of lamb absolutely delicious!!!the roast potatoes were to die for !! Vegetables were fresh ,no frozen stuff , Yorkshire puddings were awesome and the gravy unbelievable, I asked for tap water after eating my meal,it was brought promptly ,all in all a fantastic experience at this lovely pub ,we will come again and we live in West London..... ....over the moon we were given a box of extra roast potatoes to take home.. honestly probably the best roasts I've ever had ..Thank you Tyler and the lovely bar staff .. we will be back ..

Arrived just after they opened on a Saturday. If this was an east end pub it’d be packed because it’s REALLY nice, I don’t know the location well but it seems off the beaten track. Very quiet from 12ish and starting getting busier at 3pm. Music playing was classic rock and some 80s pop. Currently table service. Ordered the halloumi fries (delicious! With minty yoghurt and pomegranate seeds) and then the mac and cheese - one with bacon and one without - and they were hot, tasty, but not too heavy. Ordered a bottle of Prosecco and got given raspberries and sparkling glasses. Attentive service and would definitely return.

The Prince George Pub in Watford is a standout establishment, particularly renowned for its Sunday roast, which has earned the top spot in Watford—and deservedly so. The roast is exceptional, boasting perfectly cooked meats, rich gravies, and all the traditional trimmings, making it a must-try. The staff at The Prince George are friendly and attentive, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. While the price point might be a bit on the higher side, the quality of the food and service more than justifies the cost. For anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience in Watford, The Prince George is a great choice.

A few months ago I visited the Prince of George in St Albans Road, Watford a couple of times for my Sunday roast dinner. On my first visit, I didn't receive great service but nothing to complain about apart from the gravy ( very bitter) However, I visited a second time again because it was very close to where I was living at the time. The second time experience was one of the worst customer service I have experienced in my entire life and it's not a pleasant service at all no customer should have to go through such a bad experience, especially at the dining area in front of others. It's a humiliation and hate I experienced from the owner and the leading management staff.

I have been around the world and I have dined so many different cuisines and so many different cultures and traditional food around the world. But the Prince of George in St Albans Road, Watford is one of the worst and most discussed services I have ever experienced in my entire life. Therefore, I thought people around the Watford area should be careful specifically if you have dark skin. The owner and the management are not very friendly with foreigners at all.

Great family friendly pub with lovely decoration and nice friendly staff. That’s the positive, we live locally and we have eaten in the place a handful if times and we always find the service is very slow and the food is ok but not great to justify the higher than average price. We decided to give another chance for fathers day and book a table. The mains took more than an hour to arrive with no explanation on the delay, I ordered steak which was cold on arrival, mentioned it to the waitress and got a new one 15 minutes later but this time was nice and pink in the middle but burnt on the outside, not for the time it was on the grill but because the grill left a very bitter burned taste on the meat. Didn’t complain the second time to avoid waiting for another 15 mins (was starving) but my wife did when paying the bill, where they offered a 10% discount. We had the same issue previously with some chicken we ordered for the kids in the past. Avoid anything on the grill and stick to pub classics and prepare to wait at busy times and the food quality and ambient are fabs for the...

We went for a family birthday dinner; needless to say the gastronomic nuances of the meal were lost in news, gossip and silliness. I ordered a chuck steak which was cooked perfectly ( I have steak blue), but it could do with being better displayed, as it looked rather lonely on the black plate with a green bike swoosh of, salsa verde? A corporate cow!? Most of the table had roasts, which looked great, and from the bits I tasted, the looks did not deceive. The children's roast option, 50% portion, were as well done as the adults, though 'kids' standard fare appeared to be the lacklustre 'insert happy meal item here' and chips options. The food came out rather slowly, but as we we r e chin-wagging this wasn't as big a problem as it could have been and the waiting staff's friendliness and helpfulness could not be faulted. On the drinks side the beer selection was brilliant and comprehensive. I would definitely go back in a smaller party to compare...
