Prezzo Italian Restaurant Godalming — Restaurant in Waverley

They attempted to serve us two of the same dish, then when we said we ordered something else, the duplicate dish was taken away with no explanation as to what was going on. 10 minutes later the person who took our order asked if everything was okay with the meal, so I explained that I hadn't got what I ordered. Didn't know if I was even going to get the food until 20 minutes later when it arrived at the table. Apparently the chef got the order wrong. There were literally less than 10 customers in at the time, so I don't understand how the kitchen could get an order wrong, or all of the staff be so unaware as to what was going on. The food and drink was good, but not great, and taking into account the price and the service, the whole experience was...

My initial impression was coloured by having to walk through a cloud of cigarette smoke from the staff members taking a break right by the entrance - not great thinking guys....

The staff were friendly enough but half way through my pizza I realised it wasn't the pizza I had ordered! However, it was tasty enough so I thought, what the hell.

A waiter then asked me if everything was ok. I said "Well it's not what I ordered but it's tasty enough". He said " Good" and wondered off. Possibility because the room is very echoy.

All in all next time I fancy pizza in Godalming I'll go to Piazza Firenze down the road and if they're booked up, Pizza Express at the top of the high street.

In summery - food ok, bad acoustics, staff - could do better, see me...

Visited Easter Saturday early evening. Very good, hot food and quickly delivered. Didn't really understand why hey chose to seat our party of ten next to the toilet entrance when the restaurant was practically empty? Spoilt the atmosphere a bit but I didn't complain. Perhaps seating a group next to the toilets should be done for the last group arriving? Waitress was very attentive. She couldn't answer my question about whether lasagne was made with beef mince or pieces of beef. Not a problem but I would have expected her to go to a chef and find out. She didn't and I ordered something else instead. Discounts and gift card were accepted without questions or issues. A solid 4/5...
