Read moreVisited Silvana’s today for the first time (Mothers Day) and unfortunately, we were left underwhelmed. It is a shame as we were really excited to try this new restaurant. The Brazilian BBQ was not available (only Saturdays, which we didn’t know on booking) so instead we ordered from the Main Menu. The two chicken tapas dishes were not available so we ordered the beef, cheese and prawn. There was severe confusion with the tapas starters - We were originally told ‘X’ plate was cheese, then when we queried the missing prawn ones, we were told ‘X’ was prawn, only to try them, confirm they were cheese and then enquire again on the whereabouts of the prawn ones. After finishing the starters that were served, the waitress attempted to clear our plates but we asked her not to as we were awaiting the rest of our starter … After 20 minutes, the prawn ones arrived.
The starters were good, if a little dry. For mains we ordered the Piri Piri Chicken and Beef Stew, overall presentation and flavour was lacking. The beef was mostly tender but one piece (the largest) was incredibly tough and chewy. Another guest ordered the coconut and sweet potato soup and small pastries, these were delicious. We had to call a waiter/waitress over to order more drinks; ordered a Diet Coke for our daughter, thankfully it came in a bottle so we were able to see/check (it was full sugar) so we sent this back.
In summary, the service needs work (appreciate Silvana’s is a new restaurant) but given the service charge, this should be to a better standard. The food in the round is average and when factoring in the price, on the whole, it’s disappointing - We would choose to eat elsewhere in Farnham as there is better service and better food...
Read moreWe found ourselves in Farnham for a walk and a coffee. We decided to get some Nachos from Silvana's as the restaurant looked amazing and so did the menu. Unfortunately, it was very very average at best. £8+ for a bowl of nachos for two is a great price. However, when it came out, It looked like it was put together with tinned produce. The cheese was definitely from a packet and not even melted. The avo was watery and flavourles, the jackfruit was 100% from a can. The jalapenos had no heat to them. The only fresh thing was the tomatoes. The nachos themselves were nice but not a big enough potion and with no no sour cream or no salsa. I would rather pay £12 for amazing nachos and I have before at various pubs and chains but unfortunately I can't recommend this one. My girlfriend had a cocktail and couldn't even finish it. I'm not sure if this place is new but they need to improve on the basics otherwise they won't last. The service was great. We sat outside but the atmosphere inside seemed a bit off however I wasn't sitting in there so thats just the feeling I...
