Rudest landlord who treats the pub like his own front room. Really upsetting experience as didnt choose to go to that pub. I sat there to work as I had to be on time to run a focus group with a group who had invited me to their regular drinks meet up. I went in, brought a drink, attended the meetings I needed to go to and the went around the corner to talk to the group. On leaving I realised that it had overeun by so long that I was already late for my 2pm. So I dashed back into the pub and set up again to join my meeting. ||Without any, slightly more pleasant approach, I got the landlord in my face angrily telling me "you can book a meeting room of you want" and accusing me of using all his electricity. ||There was absolutely no polite enquiry or consideration that maybe had I considered buying another drink but was in a rush. How I re-entered the place in such a rush and gave him a nod in the process should have been indication enough that this was an important meeting I couldnt miss. ||He was immediately very angry and quite frankly an intimidating, confrontational man. I did not chose this pub, I was invited and had to sandwich that in around many other meetings. The group I just sat with ALL had drinks, there was a WiFi code on the wall and a plug socket readily available. I had bought a drink earlier and was also considering buying lunch there after my meeting. If asked not threatened I wouod have purchased a coffee. When I unplugged the cable thinking it was the use of electricity, he turned off the WiFi.||I did mention on my way out that I wasnt satisfied and wouldnt be recommending and I got shouted down by all the regulars, with reference to where I live being mentioned with a negative connotations neaning they had been listening in to my conversation. I got told I was very rude and should have asked to come back in. Not sure what he thinks he is running but it certainly isnt a "public house"! I am in quite a state of shock about it and quite happy to accept the fact that it seems like I have been barred! Avoid like the plague if you are not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI booked a table last week at The Albion Farnham (one of a small chain) for the Euro's final after watching the Euro semiās there the previous week. I double checked the booking at 6 pm on the day of the final confirming our arrival at 7.30 mainly because I had been let down on a previous occasion at this very pub. The girl assured me it was booked, table 8. I had family from London and friends from Petersfield. But on arrival table 8 was taken by friends of the management a guy called JP they said he had booked it for them and they refused to move and the girl working there wouldn't move them either and there was no other tables available. We were very upset and really embarrassed in front of our friends, it ruined our night out., (more fool me for giving them a second chance I suppose). Food on first visit was only average too. DO NOT GO THERE AND RELY ON HONESTY AND SERVICE YOU...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs a new resident to Farnham, I was excited to explore the pubs and night life the town had to offer. Only to have one of the worst experiences. From point blank of paying for my drink I was approached, by who I believe was the owner, and told to buy a round for the group I was with due to his extra charge when customers paid by card. I would have understood this, however the aggressive tone, loud volume and lengthy lecture I received.|| Within a matter of minutes we were met again by this tone and volume when we simply moved tables to sit together. The atmosphere of this pub was completely unwelcoming and I will not be returning to this pub, nor would I recommend others to visit. If you want a good pub in Farnham, go...
