UPDATE AFTER THEIR RESPONSE:
I was incredibly polite to your staff, and you and your assistant manager were actually rude, confrontational and condescending to us. My father was getting more annoyed than me, rightfully so, however, I calmed him down and deescalsted the situation that your assistant manager couldn’t. Don’t forget when we spoke at the end, I had to say to you that “I’m talking to you calmly and trying to have a respectful and a mature conversation” to remind you to not be so smug, rude and dismissive.
I tried talking on the day, and realised it was a dead end . But I have now added the photo of our reservation proving that our booking was for 2.30.
Ive blurred my partners name, but now everyone can see it, and you can look up the reference.
So yes, I’m glad that you remember that our drink order taken until gone 3, and food didn’t arrive until 3.40ish (with still no coffee or gravy ever arriving).
Given your rudeness, I would like to mention that my original post was already tamed down. I could have gone on and mentioned how your staff brought out a bottle of red wine in a champagne bucket and ice for the table next to us. The experience and staff were even worse than I originally stated. I just kept it brief.. I would have still just appreciated an apology instead of any of this nonsense you’re trying to hide behind.
I won’t be responding as your willingness to publicly lie, which I’ve proved with my screenshot, means that there is no limit to the depths that you will sink to just to avoid apologising or taking responsibility.

Awful experience. Forgotten about by staff multiple times despite the restaurant not even being full.
Took 20 minutes to be asked for our drinks despite us going all the way to the bar to ask then to send someone over. The drinks were then forgotten multiple times. We reminded waitresses and went to the bar to chase it up over 30 minutes. Including a coffee that we chased up three times only for them to tell us 45 minutes later that they didn’t even have the milk we asked for.
We didn’t order a starter, only mains, and it took the 15 minutes after finally ordering it to tell us that they had run out of one. I ended up not even asking for a replacement as I gave up hope on them and I’m glad I did.
Then the assistant manager came to apologise and promise better service, only for me to have to chase her again 15 minutes later as they had forgotten the gravy we’d asked for for the roast . I’d ordered it with a member of the waiting staff as well as the assistant manager herself when we complained. That’s right, we complained to the assisstant manager about all of our orders being forgotten…. And they proceeded to forget what we ordered. Clown show.
our drinks order didn’t even come until after our meal. It’s just a joke. Far too much to complain about. Instead of taking responsibility, the manager tried to blame it all on the fact we showed up 10 minutes early. I double checked our booking and we were on time. And being 10 minutes early doesn’t excuse every single order being forgotten/lost. He also tried to blame it on being very busy, there were multiple empty tables and no one outside. Capacity looked about 60%. He was full of excuses and talking to them/feeding back to them was embarrassing. I could see people wincing as they heard the manager speaking to me. Customer service and satisfaction didn’t matter to management here.
Hilariously, they gave us our drinks for free as if it was some grand gesture …. The drinks order of two Pepsis and a coffee… a coffee which never arrived and Pepsis that came after the meal— after I’d chased it up 3 times. I would have just preferred an apology.
I genuinely felt like I had to work harder than the waiters and chefs to get our...
Read moreThis was our second visit to the six bells. The first time we came we waited ages for someone to come and take our order and then when the food came out, the staff placed our food down on someone else’s table, and then couldn’t remember which plate was which roast when they eventually figured out they had put it on the wrong table. We then had to wait more than 15 minutes for our bill after requesting it, to which another 5 whilst waiting for the card machine. I was tempted to ask for the service charge to be removed on this visit and I didn’t deem our service worthy, but given the fact the food was really delicious, and the staff bless them were only young, I paid it.
Despite the experience the last time we came, we returned back today with some friends and booked a table for Sunday lunch after telling them how great the roast was. When we entered the pub, we were ignored at the door. The pub was busy, so I can understand the wait, but no one even communicated to us and said ‘bear with’, they just left us standing in the way of the door. Only when we asked at the bar, someone was asked to come see to us and place us on our table. We then sat at the table for 15 minutes waiting for someone to take our food order, as the last time we had come it was table service. After waiting for some while, I asked the bar staff where do I order, to which she had said at the bar which is odd as we hadn’t done that last time. A lady then informed me that they actually had an issue in their kitchen, and they were not able to make any roasts? I understand unfortunate things happen, but not at any point did any staff member bother to inform us of this considering it was a Sunday and majority of people at the pub would be having a roast. There didn’t look to be a single figure of management in the pub, it just seemed to be a load of teenagers running the joint, which bless them ,they were trying but both times I have visited it just looks like utter chaos. My partner then asked to speak to management when we were leaving, as we were not happy with the levels of communication or service we were provided, and rather than a staff member explaining and talking to us, they were quite happy for a customer to deal with us in a extremely unhelpful manner? This pub does have some lovely food, but it’s ruined by the lack of a properly managed and trained front of house team, and any customer service skills whatsoever.
Will unfortunately not...
Read moreYou won't find a better place for a Sunday Roast in Farnham (or Basingstoke for that matter!)
The first thing I want to mention is how accommodating and friendly the staff where, we received a really warm welcome and staff where so happy, friendly and helpful throughout our visit.
Most importantly, staff were excellent when it came to my sons allergies. Anyone with severe allergies knows its difficult to find 'safe' places to eat. The Six Bells where excellent, they where really accommodating around making him something he could eat and staff where diligent around his food so we could relax and enjoy our meal without worrying about him and his food. Staff where all really friendly to him about his allergy and made sure he didn't feel separated (some places make a massive fuss and leaving him feeling anxious to eat, and this was not the case here!) We will definitely be bringing him back!
As for the roast, you will honestly not find a better roast. The portion sizes where HUGE, my daughters roast would have easily fed me. The cauliflower cheese comes in a side dish and is just cheesy heaven. The Yorkshires are just beyond words! I highly recommend the Lamb Roast, and we will defiently be returning! And if you fancy a pudding, the Apple and Blackberry crumble is delicious.
There are loads of little added extras like games for kids, the garden is lovely and we sat in 'The Pod' which is perfect for a slightly windy day and there was a lovely atmosphere in the garden to.
Thank you to the landlord and staff of The Six Bells for such a lovely Bank Holiday...
