Maria's Café — Restaurant in Wealden

We went to Maria’s Cafe based off of previous reviews however my experience was not near the 5 stars others have given. We sat down and waited several minutes until a gentleman approached to serve us. We were immediately told we had to vacate within 45 minutes as the table was required however no “reservation” signs were present to indicate this. Both of us ordered Maria’s Breakfast which was very “mid” for the price. Chipolatas were pretty basic the streaky bacon was over done. We were staying locally and wanted to eat out, a quick Google search pulled up Maria's we called in for breakfast and weren't disappointed. We ordered 2x breakfasts and everything was tasty and put together with care. It was great to have fresh flowers on the tables (pet hate - false flowers/plants.) Maria and Gary have nailed it for a cut above the ordinary cafe, that is. Repeat customers, regulars and online searchers using Trip Advisor means that booking is essential on all days for lunch. Great menu, expertly done, and really good coffee in particular. Provencal style smart chic setting, up in the beams of a big building with other independent shops.
