Relish Restaurant — Restaurant in Wealden

I do not belive this restaurant even deserves a one star. This is my first time in Uckfield and I was very much disrespected by Steven and his collegue (girl couldn't speak English properly). I left my cigarettes in my vehicle and when I returned I was told that they thought I was going to run away. This was before being served the food so essentially they thought I was going to run away from a £7 JD and coke. Furthermore, I was charged extra for a coke that was not purchased which was later corrected after being told I should take the coke as a take away just to make a extra couple of PENNIES. Free advice, do not judge people especially when im a customer. I live in London and I'm a Chartered accountant and auditor with ACCA. To be little me over a £10 bill is highly disrespectful and on top to be charged extra and the girl that spoke to me rudly after hearing all the issues is even worst. Maybe if you understood the English language better you'd understand that I was disrespected and you should of made my experience better by at least smiling (I didnt even ask for a discount for the poor service). I would not recommend this place at all. Don't waste your money here. I recommend Zorba in Lewes. Maybe these members of staff will know how service should be...

We went at 6pm on Friday and left at 6:30pm having had starters and mains! If you’re looking for a quick meal, this is perfect for you! The place looks so much better than it did before. Fun decor if a little tacky - very clean and bright. Attention to detail on requests was lacking - no draught beer available so we chose corona in a bottle and asked for it to be in the bottle with lime - it came in a glass with no lime… not a biggy but first impressions matter. The food was quality and plentiful. Lacked seasoning and authenticity. The service staff are definitely in early days and need a bit more enthusiasm for their roles. They were stood around chatting for a good 5 minutes once we had finished our meals with no other tables to serve and didn’t clear our table until we asked for the bill. Lovely to have a Turkish restaurant in Uckfield. I would like to give some constructive criticism from my visit. Firstly the bottle of wine was served at the table with the cork having been removed and pushed back in the bottle top. Please open the bottle at the table so the customer can see that it contains the wine they ordered. My order of chicken shish comes with rice. I do not eat carbs so asked for extra salad. I was offered chips but declined. My meal came with chips! Also the salad was very limited. I asked for no onion and the salad contained grated carrot, pickled cabbage and a few bits of lettuce. Please try and be more inventive with the salad. We had to wait a while, after our plates were taken away, for a waitress to come over and we asked for the desert menu.
