So, the pub recently had a refurbishment. If you like green, then you will love it here.

Kirsty (the manager) has worked really hard to change the clientele of the pub, getting rid of most of the previous rough elements and calming the rest.

All the draught is of a good standard and having been invited to look at the cellar (following a dishwasher issue) to make sure she hadn't missed anything, I can happily say, you could eat your dinner off of the floor it is that clean and tidy.

The team are a good mix of young and slightly more experienced and all are very approachable and helpful.

There are regular menu changes which seem to be well received and are quite popular.

There is different music nights typically once a month as well as open mic nights and karaoke which are advertised outside the pub and on Facebook as well as the hugely popular Hopfest in August and live sport is available everyday

The pub has come on leaps and bounds under the current management and is well worth a visit (even if macmullens still won't entertain ales from other local producers)

Cost wise, expect to pay between £4&6 for alcoholic drinks but, they do have a range of 3-4 none alcoholic beers and ciders as well as they usually soft drinks

We were so disappointed with the standard of food we received today it was shocking we waited over an hour for a margarine filled sandwich, a child’s meal with 8 chips and the jacket potato had a teaspoon of chilli. The only redeeming factor was your team member Charley she is an asset to your business polite friendly and professional. However retrain your kitchen staff and the other woman behind the bar with the stripes in her hair only wanted to serve men and ignored women at the bar. Seriously sort yourselves out the food is an embarrassment and give Charley...

I held a fundraiser at the Hopfields on Saturday night(13th May) The landlady(Kirsty)couldn't of been more helpful and accommodating and was a real support over the build up to the event and on the evening itself. The evening went amazing and we managed to raise an amazing amount of money. She advertised it well and it was incredibly well attended. I can't thank Kirsty and her amazing team enough, I won't hesitate in arranging another one...
