The Bakehouse — Restaurant in Welwyn Hatfield

The visit was dire from the outset ...Pepsi machine was without gas, ordered 3 baguettes and chips .A small order really was waiting over 1h 20 mins .People who arrived after us were served and eating and our food still hadn't arrived .We asked for an eta for about the third time and we're confidently told 5 minutes .. .This came and went so we gathered our things and went to the bar . It took another 5 minutes for someone to arrive at the bar . We told them that we were leaving and would like a refund .This was sorted with little fuss but without any kind of apology at all . This was my birthday meal and chose to eat here as previously the food and service was good . What a massive change here . The restaurant was not even busy a table of 7 left midway thru our sitting leaving one table of 2 and one table of 3 hardly peak capacity yet they seemed to struggle with even these small numbers . I know it was a Monday afternoon but it was like fawlty towers , But at least I know where not to go next time I venture out . Edit No contact from the outlet at all for the past 2 weeks burying their heads in the sand thinking all is rosy ....heads up it really isn't needs to go back...

I went there for dinner ordered a mixed grill and waited 40 minutes and the place was quite. On a positive note the young lady who served me was vert polite and smiley as was the waitress who brought out my food On a very negative note I had to ask how long for my dinner to be served as I was becoming late for an appointment, it was then delivered promptly, Egg was broken and hard fried covering all of the gammon more like an omlette the sausage was burnt, The steak was so tough I struggled to cut it let alone eat it, the gammon was tough but edible, the chips were stuck together but to return to a positive note the onion rings and the peas were nice, the waitress asked me if my food was nice and I told her it was awful to which she asked me if she could do anything and she was so sorry the food wasnt up to scratch, unfortunatly I was now so late I couldnt get her to do anything, Should the manager or owner read this keep the waitress but get rid of the chef and buy better quality meat. I hate to leave a bad review business is hard but the food was appaling the 2 stars I have awarded are for the waitress and the onion rings, I wont be...

We went there as group of 5 adults and 1 toddler on saturday, whilst their the staff was really lovely and the food tasted amazing at the time. We have come home and 4 adults out of 5 and the toddler have been nothing but projectile vomiting and have bad belly aches. Not saying this to advise anyone to not got here but we spent £80 on food and it's just made us all soo I'll so I think the staff need to check their stock and see if anything is off or our of date. We believe it could have been the ice as everyone that had ice has ended up really really unwell, and still being sick now. Unfortunately we wont be returning

I have non stop tried calling to try and speak to someone reagrding this and to hopefully get some sort of refund but no one seems to answer the phone its ridiculous multiple phone calls since this happened I've called all different times of the day and no one has answered not once. I cant believe this service! You made my 2 year old I'll let alone the rest of us that has been projectile and has bad bellys and now cant even answer the phone even though you have said to call btw I've been calling all weekend since...
