Popped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon with my partner. The restaurant is well presented and spotlessly clean. The waiting staff were very polite and accommodating. I ordered a peroni top and a bottle of house water, we recieved these along with a stray glass of wine, that wasn't ordered or consumed. The grilled chicken appeared to be frozen chicken chargrils from the supermarket, the fillets were very small, thin and dry, and smothered in BBQ sauce. I ordered the Lamb Iskender. The lamb Kofte had far too much mint mixed into it, which flooded the taste of the lamb. Furthermore the kofte was overcooked, making it very dry and leaving a bitter aftertaste. I left feedback with the waitress who asked if I would like to order something else, to which I declined. My partner had a chocolate fudge cake for desert, which looked and tasted amazing, accompanied by strawberries, blueberries and cream. When I asked for the bill we were charged £55 in total, including the stray glass of wine and a pre-included 10%service charge. We basically were charged £11.56 more than the price of what we ordered. Basically the restaurant looked very nice and the waiting staff were very good, but in truth, the food was substandard, especially for the price. Also I don't expect to charged for things I haven't ordered. Taking into account the quality of the food, I believe it was a cheek to automatically add a service charge to the bill. I personally believe a tip should reflect the overall service and should not be expected. Taking into account all the other reviews, I expected so much more, very disappointing indeed. We were going to go back here for valentines day, but after sampling the food and the billing issues We will not be going back here again. If a restaurant cannot cook and serve good quality food, there's...

Starting with the staff; super helpful from the very first booking enquiry. Everything made really easy and communication was great. On the night everyone was very friendly, fast and efficient, and service was prompt and flawless.
Venue itself is lovely. Having known the location for a long time living in the area, it's gone through a number of transformations over the years, but I think it's safe to say that it's current incarnation as Gras is the best. Great atmosphere, great decor, and it really makes you feel like you're somewhere special (which you are!)
Food was really good. I ordered things from the menu that I would not normally go for, and it was all delicious. Feedback from other members of the group was similarly great, and all positive. Presented really well, and really good sized portions. Given they were catering for such a large group, courses came out promptly, with minimal waiting, and all of the same really high standard.
Some great cocktails and mocktails on the menu as well, so perfect for a night out.
Huge thanks to Jan and the staff for a really...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Gras restaurant and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with a cozy modern twist on traditional Mediterranean decor the staff is friendly and knowledgeable always happy to recommend dishes or explain ingredients The food is where this place really shines every dish is bursting with fresh vibrant flavors. I started with the hummus which was smooth and perfectly seasoned accompanied by warm fluffy pita for the main course I tried the grilled lamb chops which were cooked to perfection-tender juicy and complemented beautifully by the tzatziki sauce. The seafood risotto was also a standout with a perfect balance of rich saffron flavor and perfectly cooked shrimp and mussels The portion sizes were generous and I loved that the menu offers a great mix of both light and hearty options. The wine list also well-curated with several excellent Mediterranean options that paired perfectly with the dishes If you are fan of Mediterranean cuisine or just good food in general I highly recommend giving this place a try. I’ll definitely be...
